We spent two nights at the bi-annual Girl Scout weekend at Club Getaway, and had an absolutely wonderful time. Our troop was made up of 13 year old girls and they had the time of their lives. They were kept busy from morning to night with activities such as a zipline, bungee trampoline, evening dances, a talent show, songs around... more

Every year at the end of the summer, the Darien, CT YMCA would bring their teenage campers to Club Getaway for a day or two. When there, we would have a blast with the many activities that they provide, include the zipline, the "banana boat", paddleboats, tubing, etc. I've had different experiences going there, and the best was when it... more

It is ok to meet people, the place is ok, but the management is stupid. They just should sell the business to someone with some ideas. No innovations, just sub par activities. In a few words it is boring. more

Club Getaway was something a friend offered to take me to and I'm so glad I went. The cabins are rustic; READ: could use some updating; but what else do you expect when you go camping!?! We didn't have hot water the first night, but reported it to the staff and they fixed it immediately. And the staff was excellent.... more

I went to Club getaway for their young professionals weekend. The overall experience was better than I thought it would be. Here is a list of the pros and cons. Pro: You can take a bus from Manhattan to Kent. Its a nice charted bus. Free wine and snacks are served. Its a great way to meet some of the... more

Decided to go alone during the Sports weekend. Friday night began with a dinner around 9pm. You are seated with other singles and the evening was spent getting to know the other people seated with you. I was the rookie in comparison to others who have been there multiple times. This weekend there was a mixture of late 20, 30... more

I went with a friend to the J-Weekend, a weekend for Jewish singles. We had a great time! The cabins were cute and rustic -- not luxurious, but camp never is. There is air conditioning in the cabins if you need it. The bathrooms were fine. So many great activities to choose from. We went water skiing, zip line, kayaking,... more

Attended the Boomer weekend. On the upside the food was wonderful. A good opportunity to meet single people. But women outnumbered men about 3 to one. Many activites to chose from. The cabins really need to be updated and the beds are like sleeping on a rock. Overall an ok time. Their cruise was better in terms of accomodations but... more

Exceeded my expectations, I was not comfortable going alone on a weekend getaway but it was by all means the best decision and started the weekend on the right foot. I arrived late Friday afternoon, the staff was very helpful checking-in, carrying my bags to my room. The cabins are rustic, the camp grounds are well maintained and the setting... more

This place is awful all around. I signed up for a hike which turned out to be 45 mins trying to get everyone on the bus, 45mins driving, 15 mins hiking then the same in reverse. Total waste of the entire afternoon. When the entire group asked to walk farther, the club rep said we "weren't allowed". Turns out they... more
