........because if you knew how great a time we had while staying there recently---you'd go too. And then------it'd be harder for us to get our next reservation------which I guarantee will happen as soon as possible. All kidding aside-------we intended to get away and blow off some stress and pressure-----and this B & B was the perfect remedy. The hostess couldn't... more

Thanks Victoria... Cant say enough. This was my choice for a B&B. Traveling to DC with my teen son. It was so comfortable and I really felt at home. My son said your breakfast was the best meal we had on our whole vacation. It was nice chatting in the evening with you. I would not change a thing. You... more

We stayed at the Tidewater Inn for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. Victoria, the owner, seems to have thought of every detail to make her guests stay a pleasant one. She has owned the Inn for 2 1/2 years, so disregard the less satisfactory reviews before her ownership. The breakfasts are excellent and unusual. There is plenty to... more

Just got back from staying at the Tidewater Inn and wanted to write about a wonderful, relaxing experience. This was part of a 'girl-friends getaway' and from the moment we arrived we were nothing but delighted. Victoria remembered all of our names and made it a point to greet us personally each time. The rooms were wonderful and the idea... more

Madison is a lovely little town and the Tidewater Inn is definitely the place to stay if you are visiting the area. It is expertly run by Victoria who ensures that the place is kept absolutely neat and spotless. The breakfasts are different each day and absolutely delicious and imaginative. We actually stayed in the smallest room in the Inn... more

I frequent the Madison area quite often, and we have tried several local places to stay. We have concluded that the Tidewater Inn is our favorite place to stay. First of all, the rooms are clean and neat. We find the hosts warm and friendly, and helpful. The location also has a seperate stand-alone cottage with jacouzzi bath. The Inn... more

Our stay at the Tidewater was hardly memorable. It should be renamed the Stepford Inn because the experience was totally robotic. In fact, this was our second time staying there and we had great expectations having had a decent time last year. Although the room was large, comfortable and well furnished, it was bizarre that the sink was in the... more

Stayed there years ago and found it charming. Current owner refuses children for fear of harm to her antiques. Her attitude was - well, condescending - implying that all children are unruly and unkempt. more

As soon as we arrived we fell in love with our room and immediately booked a second night. This is a delightful and comfortable inn on the outskirts of Madison, with lovely gardens and a hostess who goes to some trouble to ensure that guests are happy. Breakfasts are substantial and delicious, and recommendations for local restaurants included making the... more
