This is a classic example of a beautiful Tudor pub, restaurant and B&B. We stayed here for one day and night, had lunch, dinner and breakfast. All were excellent, the Table D'hote menu in the restaurant is particularly good value £22.95 for 3 courses. I ate the 8oz steak with peppercorn sauce and it was the best I've ever had.... More

Just had a wonderful stay of three nights. All the staff are really great and attentive, can't do enough for you. The breakfast is great, does not normally come with black pud but I asked if they could give me some and they did. In general our stay represented really good value for money. Food is pretty good in the... More

Today we have visited the Old Hunters Lodge. I have to say one of the worst experiences we have ever had. The pub is wonderful it looks amazing from the outside, it has a very unique aura, but the cheap plastic decorations makes it look very odd. Fireplaces, logs in it, all the right ingredients to a great pub, and... More

Whilst I do not feel it very fair to give this place an average rating unfortunatly the food is at best average. Had the Sunday roast and it was ok. For the price I would have expected better. I dont know if it because they were busy or the menu is too big but for £9.95 I would have thought... More

Great food, best Venison I have tasted in years. service was amazing and friendly. wife ordered lamb, it was a bit pink, whick is rthe way i think it should be, but, she was not going to eat it. I mentioned it to a waitress, they were appologetic, and took it away, bringing a fresh one, note: - not the... More

Only eaten here, so can offer no comment on the hotel side. Had quite a job getting a booking here, which boded well as it's clearly a popular venue. It was the run up to Christmas, so one would expect it to be busy, but it needed three dates being suggested before we managed to secure a table. One of... More

We had a meal at the Old Hunters Lodge this week and were so impressed with the food and ambience. The staff are really friendly and customer care obviously is important to them. Little touches like asking if you would like some water brought to the table instead of asking for it. The food is excellent and I would return... More

Yes I know this is reviewed as a hotel, but as we live locally we use it just to eat. My wife uses a wheel chair & they could not have been more helpful

We stayed at the Old hunters Lodge after landing at Heathrow from Canada and on our way to Yorkshire. We found all the staff and the owners helpful and friendly . Our room although on the small side was more than adequate and quite comfortable . The room was clean and well cared for . The bathroom again was smallish... More
