I found this property close to my home in CT. Everyone was exceptionally nice and all my requests were handled in a very timely manner. Meals were especially well prepared and presented. The porch at lunchtime was an ideal location with a refreshing breeze. Since the property has so many different cottages, I look forward to returning many time and... more

Well I just returned from a little trip to Morris town Ct to visit a very special place called Winvian. This was my third experience and wow, I must say that I was overjoyed once again! What an escape this trip was, I have got to get back asap, preferably now, but sad to say we have to return to... more

Winvian, in a gorgeous, rural, 18th Century corner of Connecticut, is an unforgettable hotel. You enter on a tree-lined drive by buzzing in through a gate; the staff knows and is expecting you. The main part of the hotel is a big old 18th Century farmhouse that has been added onto quite elegantly, and the guest rooms are in separate... more

Winvian has done a masterful job of designing a beautiful website and brochure that fail to show you any meaningful details of the cottages you will be staying in. For those that have spent $1700 or more a night on such a place like Twin Farms...you will be in a for a rude awakening. We were shocked by the coldness... more

We enjoyed our stay at Winvian and we will probably return with the hopes that the property matures a little. We really enjoyed the whimsical architecture and found the rooms/ cottages both luxurious and memorable. We were originally booked in tree house and camping, but upon seeing treehouse we felt it was too cramped in the bedroom/attached bathroom in contrast... more

The rooms/cottages are well built with beautiful bathrooms and well stocked minibar-- the spa was nice and not crowded when we were there- in fact the place was at least half empty which is not a good sign- although nice I didn't think it was worth the price compared to resorts such as the point and twin farms- the meals... more

Stayed at Winvian at the end of May for two nights. I had to say this is not an easy place to find! Their gate is not obvious so make sure you don't miss it. We had the chance to stay at two different cottages, Camping and Treehouse We love both cottages, but had to say we like Camping better.... more

"Rosie" , my eight pound dachshund, loves Winvian. We have visited three times this year and each time we stayed in a different "dog friendly" cottage. Our favorite is Connecticut Yankee as it is cosy and located in a meadow which is perfect for chasing squirrels! On our last visit rosie and I ate a delicious dinner outside on the... more

From its jaunty hat insignia to the amusingly named cottages, Winvian is a place to indulge your inner-- but still sophisticated-- child. We stayed in the Treehouse, which I LOVED! Just up the wooden stairs we found typical treehouse stuff-- flashlights, old license plates and oddly shaped "hiding spaces". But it's also got Moroccan lanterns, a stocked bar, a huge... more

We stayed at the Winvian in September in the Woodlands. We found the entire experience to be wonderful. The cabins were above & beyond what you would expect. We were fortunate that we met several other couples that showed us their cabins etc. So we were able to see about 4 cabins. I have to say the best are: The... more
