I stayed at the Taber recently for 1 night accompanied by my wife and 16-year-old. We hadn't booked in advance, but liked the look of the place as we drove by. We were greeted by the proprietress - a real character who made us feel very welcome. She offered us accommodation in the 'Carriage House' - a charming 2 bedroomed... more

We stopped at the visitor's center & ran down the list of available hotels & their prices & settled on the the Taber for $169, which is about 4 minutes out of town on highway 1. It was last minute, so I don't know if this was the usual price. It was well worth it. It had an indoor pool,... more

While visiting Mystic with friends 2 weeks ago, and having failed to make a reservation in advance, we were so lucky to have been given directions to this charming Inne. The price was right, the location only a $4.00 cab ride, but walkable if you like. The room had everything we needed for a nights stay, and was obviously carefully... more

Okay place, but not exactly a romantic retreat. Looked like it had a full overhaul about twenty years ago with nothing but minimum maintenance since, so it was all a bit worn and dated. There was a hole in one towel, and the rest were frayed. Breakfast was underwhelming, consisting of underripe fruit, cheap baked goods, and tiny diet yogurts.... more

I stayed in the Waterford suite. It had everything except a kitchen stove! We stayed for the weekend and honestly , I wish we had a longer stay! Margaret and her staff were so accomodating and friendly! The suite has a fireplace, 2 person Jacuzzi , 3 bathrooms (great for extended family) small deck downstairs and upstairs off the master... more

Stayed at the Taber Inn for the weekend with my wife in the East Wing. The room was very large and had a beautiful fireplace and whirlpool. Never seen a whirpool so clean, they must run bleach through everyday. The contintental breakfast was plentiful consisting of cereal, yogurts, oatmeal, breads, bagels with cream cheese, muffins, coffee cake, oj,coffee teas ,milk, fresh fruit, brekfast bars. The pool... more

It was decent. That's about it. The room was clean but had a sewage odor. We were in the East Wing which is in the same building as the pool. The smell of chlorine hit you in the face every time you entered the hallway. There should not be rooms located in the same building as the pool. The room... more

Had to be one of the nicest places to stay in Mystic. The inn was right in town. Walking distance to the downtown and seaport. Could tell inn was privately owned. Nicest indoor pool. Innkeepers extremely friendly towards my children. The inn felt very safe as compared to a chain hotel. Looking forward to staying again. more

The Taber Inne was not the stereo typical chain hotel. Clean quite and with the personal touch. Different types of fooms available from standard to luxury, we chose the luxury. We are going back Labor Day. more
