I stayed at this inn for my 3rd Wedding Annv. The inn is beautiful and the owners were great. The room that we stayed in was well kept and the bathroom was huge. Love that. It is an ideal location for everything in Mystic. The only negative thing was that when we arrived, one of the owner took us on... more

This was such a wonderful place to stay. There was such a wonderful personal touch to this bed and breakfast. We went there on our 5 year anniversary. We entered our room to a sign that said happy anniversary and a cake. We felt like we were home the minute we got there. The room was fabulous. We were in... more

This was a getaway trip for my husband and I. The bedroom comforters smelled old and dirty as if they haven't been washed since 1833. The bath towels and robes if you want to call them robes were falling apart and old. Time to replace them. Nothing like the pictures. It's too much clutter. more

We visited this B&B in February because we found it online and wanted to check it out as a possible place to stay in the future. We were greeted by Evan, one of the innkeepers, who gave us a short tour of the house and one of the guest rooms. We liked it so much that we booked a room... more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a local weekend getaway and saw all the great reviews on TripAdvisor about this bed and breakfast. They weren't lying! We had a fabulous stay here. We were in the Veranda room which was beautifuly decorated and clean (a must in my book!). Robert, one of the hosts, is a fantastic chef and... more

We (my wife and I) just returned from a 3-day stay at House of 1833 and without reservation would recommend this retreat to anyone considering it. Robert, Evan and Kathy are warm friendly, kind, accommodating and hospitable. The rooms are small and cozy filled with antiques and charm. This Inn exemplifies what a bed and breakfast experience should be; personal... more

My wife and I celebrated a babymoon this past weekend to get away before our second child was born. After much research we decided to stay at the House of 1833 for what will most likely be our last weekend away (alone) in a while. The House of 1833, Evan, and Robert blew away our expectations. The place is the... more

For our first trip to the Mystic area, we selected the House of 1833 as a base. We were pleased with the choice, since it was less than a 10 minute drive to the Seaport Museum. Evan is a great host, very accomodating and friendly but allowing you your own space. He served creative and very tasty breakfasts. As anyone... more

We Stayed in the inn for 2 nights for a weekend away in Mystic. First night we stayed in the Oak room and loved the Juzzuci in the bedroom by the fireplace. The only problem was the private bathroom was accross the hall, which we did not like. So the second night we up-graded to the Cupola suite. What a... more

EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTION: I need to start by telling you that this is going to be a true & accurate account of our experience at the House of 1833. A review from a person who was sent there to actually review the inn. I started the morning by calling the inn and asking if I could make a reservation for that... more
