All the good things written in previous reviews were true, so I won't repeat them all. We were in the charming and comfortable Blue Room for a couple of nights in late October, and I would add only that the breakfasts lasted us practically until dinnertime. The lobster fritata, especially, was delicious. For those who care about such things, the... more

We stayed at the mermaid inn this past summer. From the minute we pulled up to the day we left we felt right at home. Our days were so peaceful, well guided and comfortable accomodations. This was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast and the experience was fabulous. Josphine and Jane the Hosts were proffesional , accomodating... more

This was such a cute B&B. I traveled there with my husband and small infant (6mos). My cousin and her husband had another room. We stayed in the blue room and the bathroom was very clean and nice. The shower is beautiful and the there is a bidet. There is a refrigerator in every room with sodas, waters and cognac.... more

Having as usual read up on places to stay in Mystic Connecticut, we decided on the Mermaid Inn. The Inn is really in UK terms a B&B in someones house, but that said, it was perfect. As has been mentioned, Josephine is the ever welcoming hostess and nothing was to much trouble. We were the only ones staying for the... more

This is not a motel or hotel, but it is a house in a neighborhood. It is definitely a bed and breakfast. It was a very cute house with all sorts of cute little mermaids painted on the walls. the bedrooms are on the second floor of the house. Each one has its own key. With regards to the price... more

Our second visit to the Mermaid Inn proved as delightful as the first. The rooms are tastefully decorated with mermaid murals painted on the walls throughout the lovely and impeccably clean inn. Josephine's breakfasts are not only unfailingly delicious, they are so sumptuous that you will not even think about eating again until well into the evening. Three courses are... more

The Mermaid inn is a quaint b&b ran by two wonderful ladies, (Josephine & Jane) who bring comfort and Joy to their guest with their friendly hospitality. My boyfriend and I recently stayed there over 4th of July weekend and found our stay perfect. Every positive review is right on, the room was clean, artistically decorated with wonderful mermaid murals,... more

We were going to take the ferry to Long Island the next day and needed a place to stay overnight. We were just looking for a clean, comfortable room and a good breakfast. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Josephine, the innkeeper, who made us feel very comfortable. She offered small amenities that make a big difference in... more

I won't repeat all the great things everyone's already said about the Mermaid ... yes, delicious breakfast, decanters of brandy in the room, etc. ... everything was top shelf and understated all at once. What struck me as odd - albeit charmingly, quaintly, classic New Englandy odd - was our bathroom had no shower, just a big bathtub. I haven't... more

The Mermaid Inn is a gem. Our room was very comfortable. The inn is well-appointed with mermaid murals ingeniously painted on the walls and amenities like a grand piano in the public room and a gazebo. You know you're not just anywhere--it's a place infused with the spirit of its owner. Breakfast the next morning was delicious! There was homemade... more
