We visited for a special romantic weekend. The location is great and the fall foliage was at its peak. The room was nice- nicely decorated, great fireplace, and very clean. Housekeeping was good and we enjoyed the turn down service. We both agreed that it was a bit overpriced for what it was (near $500 for a queen bed room).... more

The Boulders is a gorgeous property on a beautiful bucolic lake. It’s wonderful stone and shingle house surrounded by several cottages and a carriage house with guest rooms. It’s stylishly and comfortably furnished with lots of handsome antiques. The beige walls with white woodwork and windows with wooden blinds give the rooms a contemporary, even minimalist feel that really differentiates... more

This was our 3rd time returning to the Boulders Inn and we couldn't wait to get back to such a serene, beautiful and wonderful place! We have traveled extensively around the world and live in a busy area on Long Island so we find this Inn to be just what we need to"get away from it all". I was a... more

The location was beautiful, the service was awesome, the food absolutely incredible (the best breakfast I've ever had, the best duck for dinner my husband ever had). I would love to give it a perfect five, but the room was moldy and that just kinda ruined everything, especially given how expensive it is. If you want to go perhaps talk... more

We'd been to the area where the Boulders Inn is located, so knew it was on a pretty lake (Waramaug), and that the road running around the lake that's in front of the Inn can be noisy. What I didn't know was that we'd be forced to choose between opening the window and hearing the cars zipping by and the... more

For our next visit, we thought how wonderful it might be to treat ourselves to an overnight stay, saving the long drive home after a late dinner. Our anniversary was approaching, so I decided to check out the Boulders website to get room and rate info. To my surprise they offered a weeknight summer special; one night with a 4... more

Where do I begin? The room, the food, and above all the attitude of the owners and staff was absolutely awful. I agree with the last reviewer, though I'm not going to bother to write to the Department of Consumer Affairs because I know that won't do any good. Our room was small and claustrophobic, dimly lit, uncomfortable. The "breakfast"... more

I've written a complaint to the Dept of Consumer Affairs in CT-- this inn should be put out of business mostly because the staff is so dreadfully unbearable. The Inn Manager is frankly the most unpleasant woman we have ever met and the owner, who is apparently never there should be paying attention-- why is he not there? His staff... more

Although we had a very nice weekend, the inn wasn't what we were hoping for. The setting is gorgeous, breakfast was delicious, we actually found the service to be very pleasant. The dining room has a beautiful view and in the evening it was very pleasant to sit by the fire with a drink. Mixed reviews on dinner, my husband... more

We decided to stay here for the weekend because the Mayflower had a 3-night minimum and because of the location. Our dinner in the main dining room was wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was good as well. Cozy and relaxing environment. Similiar to other reviews, my husband and I were a bit disappointed by the size of the room (we stayed... more
