Ask for a lake view room (we had a small corner room on the 3rd floor facing the back parking lot; a nicer room facing the lake sat empty - an upgrade would have been a nice gesture) Cozy lobby; clean, well-maintained property Clean, cozy room - nicely and simply decorated; firm bed; very basic amenities Afternoon tea could have... more

This was my second time to the restaurant. The first time I was a bit disappointed. It was just an ok lunch, and it was very expensive. I remembered the beautiful view, so my husband and I stopped by for an appetizer and drinks. We arrived at 6:30 and noticed that the patio area was very busy. We told the... more

We're return customers to the Inn. We know that the rooms, although sparcely furnished, will be spotless. The Inn is located in a beautiful setting, and we truly enjoy the quiet of the area, and the beautiful scenery. Visitors should know that there are no room phones or tv's, and the bathrooms are small. Once dinner has been finished being... more

We went to the Hopkins Inn Restaurant for a birthday treat. We were seated immediately, but it took ten minutes for a waitress to appear. Although there were enough waitresses to go around, we felt as though we were not given enough attention, from beginning to end. The food arrived. It was ordinary and terribly expensive for what they gave... more

We stayed at the Hopkins Inn for two nights. It was a great place to stay for the weekend, and was exactly what we were looking for - reasonably priced, quiet and scenic. The Inn has a marvelous view over Lake Waramaug. You could see the lake from the window in our room. The room itself was comfortable, albeit basic.... more

My wife and I had been to the Hopkins Winery many, many times, It is right across the street from the Inn. They are not connected in any way. We always thought it would be a nice place to stay, so we booked two nights a Saturday and a Sunday. We had traveled all day and our final leg of... more

I got to the Inn late (6:30) and they had left a key for me since I had called to tell them I'd be late. The key did not fit the room but it did fit the bathroom down the hall that I was supposed to use. It was a VERY hot and humid day and the tiny bathroom was... more

I stayed here in the summer of 2002 and loved it! While the accomodations are not luxurious by today's standards, it was like taking a step back in time to a simpler way of life. Contrary to the other reviewer who found the staff "uncaring", in my experience, they could not have been kinder and more accomodating. When I lost... more

don't get stuck here - either from bedsprings popping through the mattress or from their unprofessional, uncaring staff - besides poor room conditions (pointy bed springs, shower water that fluctuated from cold to hot to cold constantly, and noisy bathroom fan that made it sound like an airplane was in the room whenever the bathroom light was on) - the... more
