We went here the other night for a romantic date. It was lovely to sit outside on the porch over looking the lake. We have eaten here several times before and the service was always slow and snobby.( It is understandable how rude the service can be if you are familiar with the weekender groups who come up and expect... The inn is nicely situated with a decent view of the lake and across the street from a winery. We stayed for one night in room 11. The room was right over he front door and adjacent to the hallway where the public bathrooms are located. There was a fair amount of noticible foot traffic up and down the stairs... More

Pleasant location with idyllic views from the restaurant. We dined here for dinner and breakfast. Dinner entrees were adequate (non-spectacular). Roast duck in orange sauce tasted ok, but tasted more like raspberry with a hint of celery rather than orange. The sauce was lukewarm. Seafood casserole tasted better than the duck, but less generously portioned. Dessert options were mostly ice-cream... More

This is pure New England. No opulence or grandeur. However, It's clean and a quiet resting place in the CT. mountains where the food in the restaurant, given the remoteness, is excellent. It is worth a long weekend to get some relaxation. The staff was very friendly and makes you feel at home. Overall a good value.

Been to the Hopkins Inn several times this year including Thanksgiving Day for dinner. Wheather if be for busniess or family affairs including relatives from Italy and Austraila the Hopkins Inn has never disappointed us. HI has a great selection of dinner and lunch selections from veal to seafood to steaks. They desserts are the best in Litchfield Hills. Wait... More

We stayed for two days. The food at the restaurant had no flavor. I don't normally stay at B&B's, but I thought it was called a bed & breakfast because you got breakfast. Not here. You don't even get complimentary coffee in the morning. The place is very clean, however, it is not well maintained. Peeling paint on the outside... More

We visited Hopkins Inn for the second time with my mother in law and were most pleased both times. We did not stay, but ate lunch both times. Service was really good and the choices from the menu almost too many to have to make. Taste was good. Reserve even on a weekday. The restaurant was full on a Wednesday.... More

Although the view is spectacular, it certainly does not warrant tolerating how rude and disrespectful the service is - and the food is just ok. Have been there a few times - last night we stopped in without a reservation on the possibility that there might be a table. After waiting over 15 minutes to just ask the question of... More

We stayed two weekends ago with our two children. Very strange that we were quoted a rate for the two bedroom apartment...but had to pay extra for more than two people!!! Is that logical? Just raise the room rate for goodness sake to reflect the higher price for what is called a family suite. Next. ASK IF THERE IS A... More

This past weekend, July 6, 7, and 8, 2012 we stayed at the Hopkins Inn, on Lake Waramaug in Connecticut while attending the Amerian Le Mans race at Lime Rock. We had stayed at the Hopkins Inn in the past and we were excited to return and they did not disappoint. It is a great, old mariner's style house, with... More
