After driving around Newark for an hour trying to find a hotel room that was not that expensive and did not stink to high heaven, we ran into the Courtyard on the U of D campus. This courtyard is located ON the U-Del property, as such it can be a little tricky to find. The property is very well maintained, rooms are clean and up-to-date, breakfast is excellent. I wish they had a manager's reception though. more

I combined returning my daughter to college at the University of Delaware with a little mommy time. The hotel was wonderful. big fluffy pillows, a quiet room with comfy chair, roomy bathroom and a nice little gym. Stayed overnight for a wedding this past weekend. The staff is courteous and always greet you upon entering the hotel. We have stayed here several times since our son entered UD. Always exceptionally clean, comfortable, warm and friendly. The only downside is that the Courtyard is the best/closest Marriott choice to UD, so be prepared to pay considerably more for the convenience. I believe they sell out often so this would be a good location for another Marriott hotel! more
