We have been staying at the Cantwell House B&B for serveral years and enjoy our stay with Carol. We enjoy the quaint little town, they have a Craft Show every year in the Firehall. We always have a relaxing time here. WILL BE BACK !!!

Cantwell House, circa 1840, is located in the Historic District of the small town of Odessa, DE. Pop. 286. The house was renovated by the owner, Carole Coleman, in 1982 and has been successfully operated since it opened in 1983. Cantwell Cottage was designed by Carole and built in 1998 to accommodate parents of students at St. Andrew's School, a private school in nearby Middletown. Carole is not only the innkeeper, but also an auctioneer, interior decorator, designer and part time tour guide for Historic Houses of Odessa, The Read House, New Castle, DE. and the Biggs Museum, Dover, DE. Continental Breakfasts are the usual for a one night stay, with always a homemade bread, homemade granola, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, cocoa. Two night stays will have either/or an egg dish, pancakes, or French Toast. But, because your hostess likes to be in the kitchen, as well as the garden, breakfast can be unpredictable. Guests have commented, "It's too pretty to eat." Accommodations: The 3rd floor w/AC)in the Main house is the largest room w/ a queen bed, private bath including a whirlpool tub, TV, VCR and refrigerator.The two rooms on the 2nd floor share a bath. One room (w/AC) has a canopy bed circa 1790. The other (no AC) has a cannon ball bed. Both double. Cantwell Cottage can accommodate as many as 5 people. 1rst floor has a kitchen, built-in bed, and futon, TV and gas fireplace. Sliding glass doors open to private terrace. 2nd floor: queen bed & bath. (Cable TV, VCR w/movie selections.) For each extra person over two there is a $10.00 additional charge.
