At least two of the ice machines didn't work, and the internet didn't work either. I went to the front desk in both instances, and the clerk was aware of the problems. Wondering how long they were out of service. Other than that, not bad, kind of bland breakfast compared to similar hotels. Barely an average rating for me.

The night clerk was extremely rude. His name was Oscar. He acted condescending and if you asked him something, he acted like it was a big deal. Met the needs. Not great service but conveniently located for Bartow / Lakeland area. Comp breakfast offered mor selections than average hotel & suites. Rooms and hotel aged. Shower leak and A/c loud.

I agree with a previous reviewer. This is the best hotel in Bartow and for miles around. It is a fairly large and well kept Holiday Inn Express. Hotel was clean and had a helpful staff. Room was quiet when no one was walking down the halls. Wifi was terrible. It kept kicking me off with the laptop and phone. Breakfast was standard. Clean and bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate but could be expanded somewhat. Internet was intermittent as we were not located near the lobby. Lots of restaurants located nearby and some were in walking distance. Walmart and Walgreens also nearby.

After 90 miles peddling, this HIE was a site for sore eyes and other parts. It was clean with a good free breakfast in the morning. The location was great for restaurants and other things nearby. If you looking for a clean, safe place, the HIE is your place.
