We stayed here July 28th through July 29th for lobster sport mini season this year and it was the BEST EVER!!! I'm a little disturbed at some of these posts. Some of these sound a little fishy to me like competition in the area or fake posts. I would call the Big Pine Motel a worling class motel. Many local contractors stay there therefore I would dispute the very negative reviews I have read. As management is not exactly sure what this guest means by "working class" motel, we try to accommodate all our tourists and any person that stays at our establishment equally, and as best we can. We have all types of guests and we like to think it is because of the Value they get.

Big Pine Key Motel was by far the FILTHIEST place we have ever stayed in the USA. Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The bathrooms were full of mouse droppings, there were ants throughout the entire room, and my wife, daughter and I all woke up covered with bites on our bodies from the bedbugs!!! We have thousands of customers that stay with us each year, and 99.9% of them are pleased with our accommodations and PRICES!!! If you are not pleased with our facilities, we will certainly offer you a refund (unless you stay "overnight", and "then" want a refund).
Not exactly the Ritz... but I usually stay here since it's the cheapest around when I'm working in the area. Some problems... -carpets are old and stained -decor is minimal and even hospital-like if you end up in the rooms with the all-white bed covers -no telephones in the rooms (supposedly they were "temporarily out of order" during my stay... more
