I've stayed here many times and Yes, it is dated, still had Jalous windows in bathrooms. Coffee makers in room but being your own coffee. Two of the reviews I DEFINITELY remember as does most of the Motel. 5 star wants for 1 start price. This is not that kind of place. For a great launching pad to Marathon to... More

My impression: worn-out 50's motel, overpriced. First the pros: can't think of any. The cons: no free continental breakfast. No wifi in my room, told to sit outside, see if that worked. Have to drive through a pond to get to motel from highway. Big gap under door to outside to allow insect entry, a superhighway. No telephone in room... More

I had no choice where to stay, upon the unforeseen arrival to the island. The price on the wall said 79$ but to have a 1st floor room it was way more. So for $122 i got a clean enough room but when I saw the shower I thought what a dump, the window in the shower could not be... More

We searched the internet for anything affordable in the Keys area. What good luck to stumble upon the Big Pine Key Motel. Big Pine Key is in the middle keys - a perfect launching place to visit any of the keys, from Largo to Key West. We paid $109 per night for our room. It was not fancy, in fact,... More

We read the reviews and figured this motel would meet our needs - just a place to crash on our 1300 mile trip to Key West. We paid $170 plus for a dingy room that smelled of stale air. Bedspreads smelled and appeared dirty. There was hair on the mirror, vanity, and in the shower upon arrival. We did not... More

We set our expectations low, knowing that we were booking a cheap, older motel just for a stop on the way to Key West and were satisfied with our experience. Yes, it's dated, didn't have a hair dryer, coffee filters, coffee, or hand towels. However we were asked after we checked in if we had everything we needed and could... More

I stopped here for two nights in February '13 when biking to Key West. I had stayed here last year on a bike trip from Miami to Key West and found it was the least expensive place in the Big Pine Key area. I asked again at visitor centers if it was the least expensive, and they said it was.... More

This is the kind of place your mom or dad stayed at in 1974, which has its good and bad points. There's plenty of rough edges: in our room, the toilet handle stuck, the electric plugs in the bathroom area didn't work, and there's no phone or coffee though there is a coffeemaker. The pool is algae, and perhaps it's... More

Stayed here a few weeks ago with the intention of snorkeling Looe Key. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. The room we got for about 100 a night was fine, didn't expect much. Our room had a full sized fridge, microwave, and comfortable beds, and was a good size. The a/c worked fine as well. The room was clean and the... More

This is a no-frills budget motel. Stay upstairs to save $10 and have a clean room. We stayed there with 11 people while diving looe key and the rooms were adequate for that purpose. For great pizza, visit the no-name pub nearby.
