Booked two rooms last minute. Very happy that we stayed there. Great convenient location. Could walk to beach, restaurants, etc. Passed the cleaniness test by the fussiest person in party (age 80). Youngest member (20) enjoyed seeing something different than generic chain motel. Everyone wished we could stay longer. We hope to go back next year. more

After reading the reviews and staying there this last week, it's easy to see that those negative comments were really nit-picks. The place has a lot of charm. It's a 40's-50's style place, but as clean and well kept as if it were back then. My wife and I really enjoyed the relative peace and quiet (It's a block away... more

I wasn't sure what to expect but was very happy with the result. When I arrived, there was nobody in the office but a note on the door indicated which room I was to be in and if there was any problems a phone number was provided. I went to the room and found it to be extremely clean and... more

Our family used to stay at the Pelican Post every year for our vacation. Lois and Walter were wonderful hosts and kept the property up very nicely. Now that the kids have left home, we decided to revisit our favorite vacation spot. We were disappointed to find that there were new owners but made reservations. Upon arriving, things looked a... more

We were sad to read the review submitted by meldon and I agree that old soap bars in the shower tray is totally unacceptable. Our regular housekeeper Shirley, usually works every day and I mean EVERY DAY, 365 per year!! The day meldon was due to check in Shirley had her second sick day in three years and our agency...

The Pelican Post is a wonderful and reasonably priced place to stay. Its location is convienent to good restaurants and shops, a VERY short walk to the beach. I have stayed there several times, both with family and friends, and will stay many more. Very clean. more

As the other reviewer's have mentioned, there's a lot to love about the Pelican Post. It truly is just steps from the beach on a quiet side street. My girlfriend and I stayed there Oct. 2006. In fact, we just got back today, and I couldn't wait to get out here and write this review! We booked the Pelican Post... more

This was our third stay at the Pelican Post Motel. After a 16 hour drive to get there we knew from the previous two other stays, Suite #2 would be just what we had expected. [We've also stayed in the Cottage and one of the one bedroom units] The Suite was clean with anything you would need during your stay... more

The Pelican Post is a wonderful place for a family vacation because of the quiet location and proximity to the beach and other amenities. We have been coming to the Pelican Post for five years and have always had a great time. We stay in Suite 1 which accomodates our family of five very well. We also have a full... more

A very clean motel, quiet location but handy for beach and restaurants. Rooms good size with catering facilities. Manager very friendly and went out of his way to help in every way. We can't wait to return next year. Its our idea of an island holiday, so relaxed, time just passes. more

First let me say that I truly enjoyed my stay at the Pelican Post. It's a quaint hotel on a quiet dead-end street. The neighbors were quiet and friendly, as was the owner. There's a private courtyard for guests. It feels very safe there, and as advertised it's only a few yards to the pier. With that said, I was... more

We were alarmed to read the review posted on March 13th this year that mentioned bed bugs. Through a process of elimination based on what little information the reviewer gave, we have been able to pinpoint the room concerned. A thorough inspection has been made and no evidence of any kind has been found to support this claim. Having made...
