Great location. Worn out but all the necessities available. Personal service. Little moisture damage in rooms due to waterfront location and yearly storm activity but still quite liveable. Nice pool. Small yard. Bit of garbage smell from the backyard bins in hot weather. Some difficulty finding a parking lot nearby. Construction work constantly in the neighborhood. Residential area, virtually no... more

Ok ,so its not the Ritz or Even the Hojo but it does have great ocean views and "the best free breakfast" on the beach. The staff is nice, the food is good, location is great and its dirt cheap. Have stayed many times and will again until its gone. I love the place!Beach hotels are supposed to be musty! more

The Bahama Hotel is one building within a series of beach front hotels (Southern Shores, Sandy Shores and Martindale) all under one management company. The website for all properties show them off to good advantage -but the photos must have been taken when the last renovations were done, a very long time ago! The rates available are best with breakfast,... more

Got a really cheap rate off of Expedia for the Southern Shores Motel - but when we got there we were told we were staying in the Bahama right next door (they seem to own several hotels in the area). I should have known it was going to be bad from the beginning. While waiting to check in, we watched... more

If you are looking for the Ritz, look else-where, but if you are looking for convenience, location, price and a friendly staff, this is the place. This is the Beach, so of course it is going to be older and a bit musky, that is beachy living... Get with it guys, don't knock a great place, they could tear it... more

Staff was very friendly, Pool could have been warmer and cleaner. Rooms were out-dated and musty smelling. View of Beach of Wonderful. more

The Bahama Hotel looks its age, and our room had flaking paint, a musty smell, and wooden surrounds that were rotten in places. Power cables ran visibly round the room, and the whole property seemed a bit run-down. The check-in staff were not particularly friendly. There was no refridgerator in the room, and a long list of 'rules'. Nothing extra... more

Have stayed here 2 different times. The rooms were not really fancy , but the atmosphere was great, staff was great, view was tremendous, ocean right at your fingertips. The meals we had here were fine, the location to other things also made it worth our while. If you want something really fancy, then this is not necessarily the place... more

Looked old but OK from the outside. But the room we were shown to smelled musty. Appliances & fixtures very old. Curtains frayed. We checked out immediately. more

My husband and I had to leave a nearby hotel that we had reserved far in advance for our upcoming vacation. Upon arrival at that hotel we were disgusted and very disappointed. We left not knowing if we'd be able to get a room on such short notice. Just down the street we pulled into The Bahama Hotel and hoped... more
