Stayed 1 night here and yes, it is old motel, right on A1A which is a lot of traffic. We actually thought it was pretty ok for the 100 bucks that we paid for the night. Spend the few extra dollars and don,t be embarresed to your family like i was. This place is in total disrepair, dirty, mold, filth. I stayed at the Lafayette Motel for 4 nights in February 2009. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room itself is mediocre at best. The room was very clean and there was free wireless in the room! Comes with a medium-size fridge, which was very convenient. It's right on Ocean Blvd (across the street from the beach), which was excellent. The shower was kind of sucky, but it wasn't that hard to deal with it. We booked the Lafayette Motor Lodge through an online travel site because it was cheap and the pictures of the motel looked nice. The room that we were assigned smelled of cigarette smoke.
