The hotel is ok but I agree with most people it is tired and really needs updating. The location is good allthough the beachfront does lose the sun very early due to the other buildings along the sea front. Dirty (cobb webs, stains on walls, torn carpet, moldy bathrooms), outdated, unkept, ice machines are broken and dusty, dark and dismal hallways, dank smell throughout, valet doesn't anwer phone, off the beaten path (no easy access to shopping or restaurants). Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days. In most cases service was very good. One front desk person got very rude to us and the concierge staff over asking for a scale. We spent one night at this hotel before flying home the next day. I booked it through Travelocity, and we got a nice room with two double beds for $95.00. Just stayed two nights at the yankee clipper and I think it was the worst bed I have slept on since I was a small child. It was total spings and made so much noise it would wake you when you rolled over. Wonderful veiw of the ocean but you can get that from alot of rooms in the area.... more

this place has seen better days... the pool wasn't clean the hotel reminds me a motel that is trying to pass off as something better. I will admit the music in lounge was great, other than that it would be the last place i would ever stay in ft lauderdale more
