My husband and I just returned yesterday (October 15, 2006) from a stay at the Manatee Bay Inn. I am suffering today from post-vacation depression! It was the best vacation taht I have had in years. It was just so relaxing and so quiet, but yet steps aways from all the activity on the island. Connie and Axel run a terrific B & B. We loved the place at the first sight: the scenic setting on a lagoon where you really can see Manatees play, Pelicans fish and sometimes even a Dolphin The tropical pool is facing the lagoon and while you cool down you see the boats come into the harbor. This Inn is in a good location, but the rooms were very old and the beds and linens were dated and uncomfortable. Also, the walls are very thin and we could hear every noise, TV, talking, walking above and beside us. For the money I would stay somewhere else. more
