We have stayed here before and for the price paid, found it to be above average but not this visit. We were visiting our student at UF while our other child was auditioning at the UF School of Music and we spent two nights here. Upon arrival our room was clean and adequate. That was Friday night. Saturday morning we... More

Not a bad place although the hallways and elevator were definitely aged, and could be updated. The ambiance was that of a ski lodge, so the hotel is appropriately named. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The price was right, and breakfast was good. More

I recently stayed at the Cabot Lodge while attending a graduation. Remember that this is not a "destination", people who visit are usually looking to stay near UF campus. Yet is more than adequate, clean, easily accessible and offers welcome amenities; such as free happy hour in a pretty spacious lounge, where you can hang out at your leisure. In... More

Checked out the mixed reviews for the Cabot Lodge and decided to decide for myself. The service is excellent and the staff even asked which room would be your preference. I selected a first floor room in the book of the hotel and it was just fine. Easy access to our car for an early morning departure. The room structures... More

Having stayed at the Cabot several times over the last decade, my most recent stay in October, 2011 offered few surprises. The property has aged, and it is in need of remodeling, but it is maintained nicely and for the rate is still a decent option for an overnight or long weekend in Gainesville. There is road construction going on... More

I have stayed at this Cabot Lodge several times before and this past weekend reminded me why. First, the staff is very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you. We stayed during a UF football weekend and many of the guests and staff knew each others name, verifying that a lot of people stay there over and... More

I stayed at this hotel nearly ten years ago and then again last weekend. It is clean, but it has aged and has not been updated well. Also, the happy hour and breakfast have declined. The two morning we had breakfast, the fruit was old and slimy. The wine at the happy hour had turned and was undrinkable. Additionally, we... More

TV was not working at check in, and we reported it when we left to go out to the Gators football game just a few minutes after we checked in. We were told it would be fixed while we were at the game. We came back around 10 pm, and the TV was on in the room, but the picture was... More

This is an older hotel, but has been kept up well. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a free shuttle if you need to get to the hospitals or to the University. The free breakfast and afternoon happy hour are very good. More

We spent a couple of nights here after helping my son and daughter-in-law move to Gainesville for college. The hotel is in a very convenient location near I-75 and Archer Road. Archer is full of stores, restaurants, etc. We really liked the lobby/lounge area. The room was what I wanted... decent sized bathroom, big bed, open closet. The elevator was... More
