The two times I've visited The Florida House Inn we had a terrible experience. We did not stay the night, we just stopped in for lunch at their restaurant. The first visit was for my birthday. My friends and I were not being overly loud, but we were the only people in the room, so you could hear us talking.... more

We made a reservation, and cancelled it once additional fees were disclosed AFTER making the reservation, and they STILL charged a cancellation fee. Wow. We booked one of the most expensive rooms for 3 nights after checking that they are dog friendly. Had a lovely conversation about the dogs but they never mentioned a fee and none was disclosed on... more

My husband I had a wonderful time here. The owners were so nice and took care of all our requests and questions, Diane was a hoot to talk to! The Frisky Mermaid was well attended by Chrissy ! Can't wait to go back and see everyone again and enjoy the Florida House Inn. As far as some of the negative... more

We called the inn and asked for a nice room for our anniversary and were told we were getting the most requested room. When we checked in we wanted to take a nap and when we pulled down the covers the sheets had body hairs on them so we immediately went down and asked for our room to be recleaned... more

My fiancee and I spent two nights in the Historic District of Amelia Island. Had an amazing stay, the Inn was very romantic and authentic. The location was perfect for beach trips and nice evenings in town at the fantastic restaurants. The owners were so friendly and we enjoyed stories of the houses history (oldest hotel in Florida!) They had... more

Just returned from our stay at the Florida House Inn. It was one of our best vacations ever. The location made it easy to walk to fine restaruants, historic points and the local museum. The staff could not have been friendlier. The Frisky Mermaid, the house bar, is home to aspiring songwriters who showcase their works on Wednesday nights. Don't... more

Back in Jan. when I was planning our vacation for Amelia Is. I was looking for a Bed & Breakfast to stay at. I found one called the Flordia House Inn. It had everything that I was looking for. As always when planning a trip I check out Trip Advisor for reviews. I was surprised to read the not so... more

This B&B was poorly maintained, incredibly dirty, and dangerous for small children and senior citizens. The television was precariously perched upon an old table posing a danger to children. Upon arrival we discovered that the pull out sofa that the website claimed came in our room was nothing more than a loveseat. The only thing that could be "pulled out... more

It was a neat place to stay because of the location and history and the mopeds are fun. I just couldn't justify the price (over $200 a night). We picked an expensive room because it was our first anniversary. Location works well because you can walk everywhere. If you stay here ask for the rooms away from the hippie bar.... more

Way overpriced! Owners don't have a clue how to run an inn. The maintenance is horrible, leaky faucets, duct taped shades, duct taped hole in an upstairs walkway, unstable outdoor stairs, lukewarm shower with slow drain that left the guest standing in cold water. "Free" breakfast was a joke! Evening waitress was so friendly and helpful, only bright spot of... more
