Popp's is old fashioned and charming, with a beach that comes as close to private as you can get on Key Largo for this price! Clearly the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. Will return again soon. Great beach front and very quiet. Kitchen in every room and just an all around great place. there may be less expensive but not better. more

We had read a wonderful write up mentioning boating and spa , BUT the motel had detriorated. Boat was in disrepair as was the jacuzzi spa. The beach was not inviting. Staff would not issue refund so we could not change locales. Rooms were tattered and old. more

After reading the previous reviews I was worried about Popp's but ended up being satisfied. This is a budget motel so the rooms were "well worn". I spent a week at Popps in March of 2006. My unit was clean and well taken care of, but the grounds around the area needed a lot of TLC. There were dead branches an old mattress, a rug, pieces of cinder block, filled trash cans, and the like scattered through the area. The waterfront was nice and fairly well... more

Our experience was marginally acceptable. The beachside setting was very nice. The room furnishings were on the edge of being acceptable. The sheets were pilled and the towels were well used as was almost every thing in the way of room furnishings. Everything did function, but one wondered how long they would function. If you're looking for a fairly good deal in Key Largo, check out Popp's Motel. It's convenient and has a great beach area. A little TLC would go a long way in taking this little motel over the edge.
