If you're looking for glitz and glamour, the Hungry Pelican is not for you. If you are looking for the island feel...this is the place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. From AIA MM100 you can look down the driveway and see the bayside ocean. Cottages are your typical 50's style. All rooms have kitchenettes and most have grills.... more

I loves the hungry pelican hotel. Great sunset view. Room are nice and clean. Good price and the front desk guy was really nice. Help me with restaurant around the area, bars, daily dive/ snorkel trips and with the internet. more

The price is right, for less than $100/night with a Million Dollar view and spectacular dock to view sunsets, snorkle around the bay or just hang out on the water -- the Pelican is my favorite place to stay in Key Largo. The huge tiki and outdoor grills more than make-up for the tiny rooms. Who stays indoors in the Keys... more

Arrived after a long trip from the uk and a drive down from miami. Got to reception and give key to "cottage". Could not beleave how small room was, the double bed was pushed against the wall, the only place it could go,nowhere to hang clothes just a chest of drawers, no natural light apart from a small window in door,... more

The grounds and dock are pleasant enough, but the rooms were small, overpriced and shabby. The furniture in the room was cheap, including the bathroom fixtures and bed. Some of the outdoor chairs were old, unsteady and difficult to use. The breakfast area was full of mosquitoes and the continental breakfast was as lean as they come. They charged about... more

Me and my friend stayed in the Heliconia room, which is the smallest room available. Even though it was really small (the room is mainly just the bed :)), it was also very clean with much appreciated A/C unit. The room also has a little fridge and microwave in a corner + TV. This was more than sufficient for us,... more

We stayed here on our last night of a trip to the Florida Keys. We'd spent 3 days at a guest house in Key West and decided we weren't ready to leave yet and we wanted to drive up the Keys. We found this place online, we were basically just looking for cheap. We booked the cheapest room, the rooms... more

I stayed in the Dolphin Room which is a waterfront suite. There were 6 of us so it was very snug, but it was a blast. There was a great screened in porch where we watched the sunset and had cocktails and appetizers. We hung out on the dock all day while we swam and threw out a line. The... more

Disgusted. My husband and I had to cancel our reservation 5 days in advance because he was laid off and we couldn't afford to go. Imagine my surprise when I called and the front desk told me there would be a $30.00 charge anyway. When I asked what this charge was for I was told they had had to prepare... more

We stayed here for four days and found the little cottages exceptionally clean. Much cleaner than the 4 star hotel we stayed at earlier in the week. It was a one bedroom w/bath. The initial staff was very friendly and nice but the woman I had at checkout seemed annoyed and brief. This place is literally on the water. It... more
