A large group of us (ranging from 5 - 55) recently stayed at the Drop Anchor. We had great weather and a wonderful weekend. It is NOT the Ritz Carlton - so go with a laid back, relaxed attitude. The pics on the website are still accurate. A couple of the ladies treated themselves to the in-room massage service for... more

The Drop Anchor is a wonderful "mom & pop" that has been renovated, but the rooms still have a little of that 50's charm and funk. Truly one of the best "hotel" beds I have encountered which was extremely inviting after a full day of sunning and reading by the pool or hanging out in one of the several comfy... more

This hotel is NOT worth the money. It is old and run-down despite cosmetic changes by the new owners. Speaking of the owner, he is extremely unprofessional and has NO people skills. Be forewarned that you have to pay for the entire stay upfront and there are NO refunds. There are no bathtubs and the room we had was multi-leveled... more

In January 2008 we stayed for two nights at the Drop Anchor while travelling thru the Keys. The couple who own and run the place are really do an great job and fixing it up. Tasteful furniture, good matress, very clean beach area, clean pool. While we were there they were replacing the older air con units with newer ones.... more

Was a little leary at first with the outside..but it is painted very cute and retro...stayed in a double oceanside room and it was very nice..very clean and decorated professionally...at first they showed... more

What a nice little hotel very clean and the property is well taken care of. We did have some ants in the kitchen but its fla and ants are everywhere, its very quite at night and the view of the water is great. you can B.B.Q outside your door and there are great places to eat around the hotel. If... more

I am not going to be too negative about our stay at Drop Anchor because the problem was not so much their fault but ours...We had just travelled from Treasure Island(brand new condo) and then Naples (fabulous luxury hotel) and we were tired, slightly dissappointed with Key Largo and Islamorada so booked the first room we could get with a... more

First I want to say I am not one to bash a hotel- I have stayed in Islamorada for the last five years on the return trip from Key West- So I am aware that we are in the Keys and everything is very laid back (actually this is the reason we keep coming back). When I called I asked... more
