The reason for lodging at Cheeca was a family gathering (adults only.) My parents had chosen Cheeca lodge, so my husband and I did some investigating in regards to reviews by previous guests. Most reviews were negative, unless the traveler had stayed in a 'renovated room.' We reserved a 'pool view' room and upon arriving, discovered that it was just as... more

Went to Cheeca Lodge this past week with another couple. We had rooms 402 & 404 on top floor-EXCELLANT views from room and balcony of ocean, pool and pond.Rooms were wonderfully decorated.Staff most accomadating- Except in the restaraunt.Breakfast wonderful although a bit expensive ($80 + tip) for the 4 of us.Spa services extensive- thoroughly enjoyed 80min. massage on the beach! We... more

I mistakenly was expecting something very upscale based on the price and other reviews. Whilst we were there we called my sister-in-law who lives in Miami complaining "it's just not chichi enough" to which she laughed and replied "there's nothing chichi about the Keys" and we found that to be true (with the exception of Duck Key and Louie's backyard).... more

My family of 5 just returned, like others we were very concerned by the poor reviews, however had a wonderful stay at Cheeca Lodge. We have 3 children, all 5 and under. While making reservations, we originally went to book a 2 bdrm suite, but the hotel advised us that the 1 bdrm suite was big enough. We appreciated their... more

I have stayed at Cheeca twice. However, the last time they had no ice machines and when we ordered ice from the desk and room service it NEVER came. Pathetic. The resort is quite beautiful and when I've been there jam-packed with kids. Food quality at the restaurant was very good. All in all the total experience is not worth... more

The Cheeca Lodge is quite expensive for lodging, meals and drinks. Although the grounds are nice but small, for the price, you expect a lot more. It seemed a bit dated. You are charged a resort fee whether you use the amenties(kayaks, etc) or not. I didn't think it was worth the price and wouldn't go back. more

I agree with a number of the reviews below. During our recent stay, we found the facilities lovely. Our ocean view room was large, newly renovated and beautiful. But what often distinguishes a "luxury" resort is the caliber of service. However, the surly/non-existent/haphazard service fell ridiculously of what one would expect for the price and for the "feel" of the... more

We spent four nights at Cheeca last month. To sum up: Cheeca Lodge is a beautiful resort and if we were paying about $100 less a night, it would have been great. But for the amount of money we spent, we felt cheated. We expected the service to match the high rates we were paying, but it wasn’t even close.... more

Islamorada is a truly beautiful location in the Florida Keys and Cheeca Lodge is a gem! The views and beachfront at this resort are magnificent! Enjoy lazy days by the pool or throw out a cast on the dock (poles available for rent!). A bit on the pricey side during peak season- and that is for the non-renovated room option.... more

Our family of four, including 2 teenagers ages 12 and 15, just returned from a 3-night stay at the Cheeca Lodge. As a faithful reader of this website, I was a little nervous about some of the recent negative reviews that have been posted. However, I knew from the moment that we first pulled up to the main entrance and... more
