We have stayed at Camp Mack on several occasions over many years without incident. Unfortunately there was a break in of several boats including areas surrounding Camp Mack this weekend. From our understanding, Camp Mack is doing everything they can to catch the persons involved. They are also installing security cameras around the premises to an already well lite parking lot. more

I was told by Linda at Camp Mack that there has not been any thefts in years, and I felt secure staying there. I locked my rods in the boat and covered it. The boat was infront of my door at the liars lodge in a well lit parking space. The night before or the morning of my boat along with 12 others were broken into and had thousands of dollars in rod and reels stolen after they unsnapped boat covers or just cut them open and pryed the rod lockers open. I would suggest bringing everything that has value inside, rod and reels, props, electronics, push poles, trolling motors etc... Also, the Polk County Deputy that arrived to take reports said breakins occur everytime there is a tournament or big groups staying there. more
