First time I've stayed at HI express. This was a relatively new property. The rooms are comfortable; staff is very courteous; nearby restaurants. The rate $129 with AAA discount, however, is a bit overpriced. Based on my extensive travel experience, $89-99 would be more in line with similar hotels and amenities.

Nice new property. The only problem was the the fridge door cover door seemed to be poorly designed and fell off. Even when repaired the door was difficult to open. Otherwise everything was great. The hotel is very convenient for attending the nearby Detroit Tiger Spring Training games. There is a restaurant in walking distance.

We tried staying somewhere else (not going to mention names) because the Holiday in was full on Friday night. Reservation issues, billing issues, guest service issues, not worth your time to come to this location. No one really seems to know who is in charge, where their forms are, how to handle issues, or how to retain guests for future visits.

A convenient place while passing through on the I-4 corridor. The room was spacious, comfortable and a clean. The common areas and walkways were maintained, clean and quiet. Two weeks ago we stayed at this hotel as part of a business trip and I was impressed. Good stay. Used my Priority Club points to book the room. Clean room, friendly staff decent breakfast. Good half way point from Tampa to Orlando. Only 45 mins to "the mouse" or Universal. Not many places to eat around the hotel. Overall would stay there again if in the area.

So it turns out that loyalty to a certain group means nothing to individual hotels these days.
