We chose this hotel based on a recommendation from Frommers. Frommers description of the hotel was probably quite accurate when the hotel was first rennovated, but lousy housekeeping and poor maintence puts the Shorehaven in the "only stay there as an absolute last resort" category in my book.

The desk staff was friendly and tried to accomodate. However, friendly staff are not enough compensate for depressingly dingy, poorly maintained rooms.

A much better bet for inexpensive lodging with kitchenettes is the Beachcomber hotel a half a block away. This older, budget property is spotlessly clean with larger rooms and a nice pool area. The property is owned and run by a charming German couple who provide a friendly, hospitable atmosphere.
