The Old Key West resort is perfect if you are looking for a quiet place to stay at Disney World. There's so much to do onsite that you're doing yourself a disservice if you do not incorporate a few days to enjoy the property. We stayed here for a week with our three young kids in a 1 bedroom villa. Having an entire laundry room was a dream, and I appreciated that Disney provided laundry detergent. The living area is spacious. It's difficult to find hotel rooms that accommodate 5 people conformably, and this is one of the few one bedrooms that did, having an extra chair that turned into a bed. The kitchen was well stocked and even had food storage containers, which is always helpful when you have leftovers! There was so much storage for our groceries and other items. The bathroom was enormous and had both a large soaking tub and a shower. One complaint is that the bathroom counters are gentleman's height, and even with the folding step stool we had packed, my kids could barely wash their hands independently. So, if traveling with young kids, you may also need a step stool and/ or faucet extender. We had rented a car, which made going to the different pools and hospitality house very easy. We did not utilize the bus service within the resort. Our favorite pool, the one near the end of South Point Road, had afternoon shade and a playground. Our kids also loved the main pool with the sandcastle waterslide, but it was a much more lively experience and nice to slow down at one of the other pools. Oddly the main playground doesn't open until 10 AM, which was 3.5 hours after our kids woke up and were ready to start their days, but perhaps the others open earlier. The recreation room had daily activities, and my daughter tie dyed a t shirt and bag. There's a board of daily activities posted near the lobby, and I liked listening to the trivia games by the pool (though I am admittedly not enough of a Disney expert to be competitive!). Parking was fantastic. You basically just park in front of the villa you're staying in and you're steps away from your door. We ordered takeout from the restaurant, and it was great, despite not being as highly rated as some of the other Disney restaurants (that's the problem with Disney- so much good food, so little time!). We also loved the nachos at the Turtle snack shack. The location made it an easy drive to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Disney level of hospitality is unmatched. It was never a problem to get fresh towels or more supplies for the kitchen or bathroom. I do recommend either accepting housekeeping service or keeping your room very clean. Our kids left some crumbs around and we noticed a couple of tiny cockroaches. After cleaning up, it wasn't an issue. I think the staff is on top of it, but it's Florida! We are excited to be returning to this resort in Jan 2024!

Where to start, The resort is beautiful and so peaceful. Thanks to the decreased occupancy at the resorts the pools were quiet making social distancing easy. Traveling in December temperature wise is very comfortable very little humidity, temps in the mid 60’s upper 70’s.
We stayed in the Turtle Pond Road area of the property near buildings 40 that are closed to the quiet pool. Due to current covid occupancy reductions the snack bar at this pool was closed. They do have a laundry room here for those who are staying in the deluxe studio rooms. There are bbq grills located at the Turtle pond pool. The pool is heated and is open from 7a- 11p. The Main pool at Hospitality House is open 10-10. We stayed in a very spacious 2 Bedroom villa that can sleep 9 . It has a wonderful full kitchen and nice outside patio that was accessible from the master bedroom and kitchen. The master bedroom had a comfortable king bed, larger dresser , spacious bathroom with shower and jetted soaker tub and closet with safe in the bathroom. The second bedroom and two Queen beds and a second bathroom with tub shower combo. A walk in closet and large dresser. There is a laundry room that connects to the master bathroom. This was ample space for our family to spread out. Beautiful views of the golf course and ponds. Staff was very friendly. Housekeeping during this time is limited, they come in every couple days to collect trash and replace towels. They will come more often if you request.
We did use a grocery service to have food in our room. Instacart with no issues. Disney does assess a delivery fee if bell services delivers the grocery to you room if 6$.
There is several kids activities during the day some are free and others have a small fee. ( tie dyeing, sand art) they offer movies under the stars a few nights a week.

We just love OKW. No trip here is complete without a stay. Although we could only manage 5 days this trip, we loved everything about our long stay last year. As soon as we arrived I just felt myself relax.

Particularly after a horrid stay at Riverside.

We were allocated building 16. Close to Main lobby/pool but also by the smaller Millers Road pool. We spent quiet a lot of time here as it’s smaller and calmer than the main pool plus I can do laundry!! ( I know, I’m on holiday who does laundry?)

Check in
This was a breeze, checked in online but had to complete check in at the reception. Very cats member was upbeat, enthusiastic and couldn’t do enough to help! We got obligatory balloon dogs and off we went to our room! All in 5 minutes as it should be.

Room
Building 16 as mentioned is perfectly located on Millers Road, halfway between the lobby/main pool and the quieter small pool. The room didn’t have a great view but we still enjoyed the balcony. The room was clean and had everything we needed!

Resort
The resort is stunning. Such a relaxing vibe. We visited the small pool frequently and whilst it isn’t manned by lifeguards they do regularly come round to test the water, give the pool area the once over and do a clean/sweep.

Food
We ate at goodstogo and at the turtle pond pops shack both standard QS fair but nice. The tuna sandwich from Turtle pond is monstrous and so delicious.

Transportation
Millers Rd is the last stop on the bus but it didn’t bother us. The buses are frequent and on time and the boat to Disney springs is an added bonus.

I’ve Nothing but good things to say about the resort and the staff we encountered during our trip. It’s worlds away from Port Orleans and exactly as you would except from a Disney resort. Every cast member from house keeping, to the resort security, lobby staff and grounds men were polite, chatty and really friendly.

100% we’ll be back here as it feels like home to us. What a wonderful trip we had.

There’s so much to love about this Resort, from the comfortable rooms to the beautifully manicured grounds, and your review truly says it all. Inspired by the peaceful island communities of south Florida, you’re sure to feel right at home here, and I’m thrilled that’s exactly the experience you had. It sure sounds like you’ve found your go-to Resort here. You may be interested in knowing this property is a Disney Vacation Club destination. I encourage you to visit the Disney Vacation Club website for more specific information to see if this may be an appealing option for you and your family. This Disney resort was fantastic. We were lucky enough to have a relative who works for Disney & is a DVC member so we stayed in a 3 bedroom at this resort. The rooms were huge with a decent sized bathroom. Each bedroom on the second floor had two queen beds. The main floor master had one king and a large bathroom. Washer and dryer & a large kitchen & living room were nice to relax and eat in (it was super hot for late October). There was a great balcony to sit on and we could see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom from our room. All kitchen tool were available and the fridge was large enough to accommodate 10 people’s items and goods!

The resort staff were so pleasant and helpful. The drove us to our room and carried the bags up 2 flights of stairs for us. There is a restaurant (Olivia’s) and a walk up eatery on site, a little gift shop with basic food necessities. The pool
Is large with a giant Mickey slide and a toddler pool next to the sand playground. They have a human sized chess set and hammocks to swing in. The arcade is small but exists! They had movies and an activity every night for kids and pool games with prizes. Just wonderful.

The buses come around all day to each park and Disney springs had a small ferry boat to ride over on (this was really nice). I hope we can stay again in the future (it’s very expensive).

I visited for 3 day stay with a girl friend and her 7 year old twins. First...for anyone hesitant to travel during to Covid, please put your fears to rest. We stayed in a two bedroom condo in Building 14...near the Hospitality House. The rooms were spotless perfection. All 3 remotes were sealed in plastic..even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in the showers were sanitized and sealed. The gorgeous countertops and all the bathroom fixtures were spotless. The staff here are amazing....they are friendly and very tactfully remind the guests if they see anyone not observing best practices for the Covid era. We enjoyed roast pork nachos at the pool which are totally delicious and not that expensive for the huge serving size. I loved the little store to purchase breakfast basics (a tad expensive but hey, its vacation). Love, love , love the peaceful pastel palette of Florida life here!

It's quite the delightful getaway, almost like sailing off to the Florida Keys, and I simply adore how much you enjoyed this retreat. Between the swaying palm trees, relaxing poolside, and the pretty palette of colors you mentioned, this is the perfect way to enjoy vacation. While I haven't tried the pork nachos, I do love a visit to Olivia's Cafe, especially for breakfast. I hope you'll join us there on your next visit; they even have lovely outdoor seating and the Banana Bread French Toast is the BEST! We sure look forward to welcoming you back again for another restful respite soon. Brie Disney Social Reviews

Old Key West is a beautiful, well maintained resort spread out over a large area that encompasses a golf course and a stay works well for those with a car. The boat service to Disney Springs and the Bus Transportation System have been affected by the virus so having a car is a blessing. Disney Springs is crowded.

The Deluxe Studios are very large. There are two beds, a kitchenette, and a large bathroom. The shower was probably the best we have ever had! Where can we buy one? There is no coffee table or couch - that's the trade off for two queen size beds. We could not find an ice machine in our building - probably closed down because of the virus. The major disappointment was the small 32" TV which made the closed captions impossible to read. If you are not planning to spend time in your room, that shouldn't be a problem.

We had breakfast at Olivia's and we were happy to support them as not all Disney restaurants are open. HOWEVER, we were shocked with the $4.29 charge for a glass of milk. The cappuccino at $4.79 was reasonable enough. Check out the outdoor self service behind the restaurant.

This is the place to stay. Three story houses with no elevators to start. We were lucky we got a 2 bedroom villa on the ground floor. Disney has upgraded them so they are very nice inside BUT it takes a long bus ride to get to any park. add that there are only 5 bus stops for some 600 suites you will walk a ways to get one. Walls are paper thin. No room service except for way overpriced pizza (bread with cheese on it). Pizza is 30.00 + 3.00 delivery + 18% tip + plus 6.5% sales tax. thus for 40.00 you get a pizza that given the size would cost 12.00 at any chain. They have a dining room but must take bus to and from. clearly you do not get what you pay for.

Thank you for telling us all about your stay at Disney's Old Key West Resort, where Guests can experience both the tranquility and the fun of the Florida Keys. While I'm pleased to know your family was given a ground-level room, I'm sorry to know you were dissatisfied by a lack of elevators in your building. Please know, select buildings at this Resort do feature elevators, so if that amenity is important to your family, be sure to inform the Front Desk upon check-in. That's a great tip for other TripAdvisor users, too, so thank you for addressing this. It's especially disheartening to know you were so disappointed with our complimentary transportation offerings, particularly our bus transportation. While most areas around this Resort are within walking distance, I understand it can be inconvenient to wait for a bus if you'd prefer not to walk. Please know I will certainly share this feedback you've provided about our transportation offerings to the appropriate Leadership. Overall, it seems this Resort may not have been the best fit for your family. One thing I have learned, after staying in many of our Disney Resorts myself, is that not every single one is going to meet my vacation style perfectly. Everyone likes to vacation a little differently and that is completely okay! This is why we have so many great options out there; we want to make sure there is something for everyone’s wants and needs! We hope to see you back at any of our Disney Resort hotels again soon. We stayed here in June, in a 1 bedroom suite. The rooms are great- they come with a full kitchen, eating area, small patio, pull out couch, lounging chair (which you can also sleep on), washroom and washer and dryer. The staff was very friendly at check in and there are great facilities here for kids / families. There is also a little shop on site if you need some groceries etc. The magical express comes every 10 minutes or so and the resort is only a few minutes away from the parks. The resort is big , so to get around , there is shuttle service.

We would stay here again and would recommend especially if travelling with kids.

To me, a perfect vacation includes relaxing, spending time with loved ones, and making memories. When you stay at Disney's Old Key West Resort, perfection is easy to achieve! This peaceful tropical paradise creates the ideal atmosphere to unwind after long days in our Theme Parks. The spacious accommodations include all the comforts of home, so you never have to worry about a thing. If concerns do arise, our friendly Cast Members are always nearby to sprinkle pixie dust on your day. I'm delighted you had such a great experience with the Walt Disney World Bus Service. When you are surrounded by so much peace and quiet, it's almost hard to believe our Theme Parks are just a short bus ride away. The convenience of being magically whisked away to your next adventure really takes your vacation to the next level. If you didn't try it during this visit, I highly suggest taking the relaxing boat ride to Disney Springs. With so many convenient ways to travel, it's no wonder you had such a wonderful time. Thank you for taking the time to share this review. We hope to see you real soon. Anna Disney Social Reviews

We just returned from our first time at a DVC property after staying several times at other Disney properties. We were in a 1 BR villa, building 29 with access to Peninsular Rd bus stop. Very happy with this location as it is easy walk to the main pool and food/beverage spots. If you are using disney busses, try to request Peninsular Rd area when doing online check in as they are the first bus pick up and drop off. OKW has a very relaxing vibe, wonderful staff. We felt very safe with their COVID precautions. The villa was so beautiful and spacious. They also provide boat access to Disney springs but it is currently not running due to COVID. Even though there is only one bathroom, there are two good sized dressing areas with vanities/sinks, as well as a washer/dryer too

I am delighted that you chose to stay at one of our Disney Deluxe Villas, Thomas! What I love about staying in a 1-Bedroom Villa is that it provides all the comforts of home. I don't know about you, but when I'm vacationing I still like an occasional home-cooked meal and being able to wash all my laundry before heading home, which is so easily done in our villas. I truly appreciate these great tips and recommendations, and I hope we'll be seeing you back again soon! Quinn Disney Social Reviews

This property has by far the largest accommodations on property in Disney. The villa was beautifully appointed and HUGE!! So much space for our family, which included 3 generations, 7 people total. We staye din a 2BR and had so much room, we could spread out!
The property overall is very large, so you do need to drive to get to some places, but it is laid out nicely and the main center of the resort has a beautiful and fun pool, great cafe and quick service window.

I would recommend this resort to any DVC member as well as any family looking for an affordable on property experience.

It's so nice staying here when my family is visiting because we love the relaxing feel and how there is always something for everyone.
