We (3 adults and two small children) recently stayed at the Racoon River Campground. To begin with the roads of the campground are not paved and there are way to many trees to try to get around to each campsite! Bathrooms, showers, particulary the womens were extremely dirty. There was mold growing in them and the drains were clogged, meaning that you would be standing in someone elses bath water. yuck! i stayed here several times,it is close to most local fun,and you can walk to the water park,if the bathhouses were made larger that would be nice,but in this ecomony i would stay with racoon river,save a ton and have a great trip home and have the money for one more round of summer fun.if this campground was beach front... more

My family came down to Racoon River camp Ground for our 1st ever camping trip and we really loved it. The people were really nice and everything was really clean. We will be planning another trip in September or October. more

Wow this place is bad. Just returned, campground is rough and dated, needs some bigtime upkeep. Roads are very bad inside, spring breakers were pretty well behaved. The owners have done little to keep this place up. Need to pour concrete pads. Bathhouses need to be redone completely. My family has been staying at this camp ground for almost 20 years. You can't beat the location or the amenities. The people who run it are incredibly nice and do everything they can do make your trip great. We have met so many people over the years that we have developed a vacation family that we keep in touch... more

Open septic tank covers with hooks lining the inside of the opening ready to snag you on the 10ft fall in, plus its not fenced in, dilapidated pedstrian bridge with broken cables, selling beer without a lisence and having CHUNKS of mold pouring out of the beer tap, exposed electrical outlets... What can you say about Racoon River that has not already been said. If you want to stay at a camping ground that has all the aminities, location, and security. Try it one weekend and you will be hooked like my wife and I were. After one stay we no longer stay at our other campground. The staff is GREAT... more

The campground is a very nice place. The Staff of Raccoon River are very nice and helpful. The pools are great. Wonderful place to take your kids because our boys love to stay at RR. Security at night, walking distance to the beach, stores, fun places, and best of all Shipwreck Island is right next door. more
