Fort Pickens is a place that stays in my heart and mind every year all year. I camped there for 6 years straight, summer and spring before the hurricanes took out the road. I live about 1 1/2 hours away from Pickens and we try to camp at least once a year at the beach. Shaded camp areas with pines and scrub oak trees. My wife and I camped at Fort Pickens in Late October through early November 2003. The weather was great low to Mid 80's for the highs and 60's for the lows, low humidity and clear skies.
