Having been to St. George Island previsouly we were excited to come back. We planned to stay at the hotel rather than rent a beach house as it was going to be just my husband and I instead of the entire family. When we checked in to the hotel I was given the price for the week (6 nights +1... More

I visited SGI and stayed at the Buccaneer Inn Easter weekend. Checked in Thursday and left (sadly) on Sunday. My stay was once again, great! I usually stay on the ground floor, parking lot side, just for convenience, but was on the 2nd floor this trip. The room was fantastic, pool view, and as always, just steps away from the... More

My husband and I just left from here and I must say, it was perfect. They don't offer wifi, but then again it is VACATION. The whole point is to get away from all that. They're right on the beach and a block or two away from everything. The younger girl that checked us in was as nice and pretty... More

We had booked this hotel for a one-night stop on our way to Disney World. Wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of spring-breakers, we chose this hotel on the "forgotten coast". Besides the location on the beautiful beach, and a mini-fridge, this was a no-frills type of place. But for under a $100 per night on the... More

We stayed at the Buccaneer recently knowing it was an older facitliy; I have to say this was one of the cleanest places we have had the pleasure of renting. I would highly recommend you staying here. We reserved one of the beach front rooms with a balcony. Wonderful to wake up to the sound of the water! Loved it!

We stayed here because of a family wedding and they were very helpful to me. I left some things in my room and when I called they went right to my room and found them and mailed them back right away! I was so impressed I mailed a tip. The room was nice and the bed very comfy and was... More

We’ve stayed in the Destin area for many years and we’re used to the occasional influx of seaweed. But this was ridiculous! We had booked a month prior to Hurricane Isaac and (even though our trip was scheduled for just a couple of days after its passing), we decided after speaking to the Buccaneer’s staff to risk coming. This was... More

Sir, when you made your reservation with us over the telephone, you were told that because it was Labor Day weekend we required a 2 night minimum stay and you agreed to this policy. We try to accommodate all of our guest that are reasonable and sometimes we can change our policy. But unfortunately, you knew what the beach looked... More

My daughters & I have been visiting the Buccaneer for many years. It is not trying to be Disney, it is a laid-back, relaxing place to stay on the beach. We love sitting on the deck to watch the sunrise, dolphins, birds, etc. The August night we stayed the hotel was completely filled with lots of families but it was... More

My family and I came at the beginning of summer to stay for a night. We Hun out all day on the beach then went to the room. The room was clean, had 2 beds, a bathroom and a/c. It was exactly what we thought we were going to get. We were able to walk to dinner and walk down... More

Our room was very large with new looking carpet, kitchenette, large dressing-closet area. Plenty of room for children to play. Beautiful views from the wall length windows! Loved being on the beach. Early morning beach walks, watching the dolphins, fish jumping, pelicans, etc Quiet room centrally located. Small bathroom, but who cares! Loved that old place! I miss it already!

I am glad you found our "Diamond in the Rough". We are not a resort, we are a family owed establishment that tries to make our guest feel like they have a place to go to relax and enjoy the area. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your next visit with us. JoAnn Shiver Vice... More
