We recently booked two nights in the St. George Inn to celebrate my birthday and to attend the Oyster Spat festival on St. George Island. We stayed at the Inn 3 years ago and found it to be clean, comfortable although a bit worn. The pool area and tropical landscaping around it added to the southern ambiance. NOT SO THIS... more

Saint George in is very much a "mom and pop" place. Walking up to the Inn, we walked passed three unkempt, shady looking gentlemen. Upon entering, there was no one at the reception area, but there was a note that instructed us to use the front desk or cell phone to call someone to check in. When Jan made it... more

From the time we walked in the door, the staff did everything they could to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Our room was comfortable overall and the bed was better than some we've had in top hotels. The location is convenient to everything. Restaurants, shops and the beach are an easy walk away. The Inn has a variety of... more

We stayed at the St. George Inn in mid July 09' . It has three levels, we stayed on the first level in the Magnolia room. The room was average size with a dresser, armoire, chest-of-drawers and two night stands. It also had a frige, microwave and 19' tv with cable. It had a firm, but comfortable king size bed.... more

I loved this place! We spent 4 days in a suite with a beautiful view. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved sitting on the balcony in the rocking chairs. It was like finding a wonderful little place all our own. We can't wait to go back! more

Staying at the St. George Inn is a lot like staying with relatives: sure, the bed squeaks and the toilet runs unless you jiggle the handle, but the people are very nice and accommodating, and the place is clean. And St. George Island is a treasure. It's so rare to see a beach in its pristine state. more

We got to the island too late to book a condo so we wound up here. Overall it felt much much safer than the only other hotel on the island (Buccaneer Inn). There we some large parties going on there and I did not feel comfortable being around people who were getting drunk. The hotel has new management and is... more

Jan and Richard were wonderful hosts with great knowledge of the island. They took care of what few needs I had with a smile. The room was lovely and cozy and just a short walk to the beach. I can't wait until we return. The St. George Inn is truly a hidden treasure of the south. A definite must stay!!! more

It was an okay stay Cons: I didn't like how close the toilet was to the sink. you were literally pushed against the sink. Also, the main door into the inn was propped open, I didn't mind in the day but it seemed unsafe at night, even though we were in a locked room The pros: Easy reservation process wth... more
