Great location, right on the beach, easy walk to St. Armands, nice pool area, large rooms, beach/pool towels available, fully equipped kitchens were all pluses. Fixtures, furnishings, and flooring are a bit dated, and the bathroom seemed a bit old/dirty. I booked my room in advance and had considered not doing so - I thought that I might be able... more

My family and I did not know what to expect from our 1 night stay here, but boy were we happily surprised! We got our room with 2-beds and a kitchen for only $89.00/night. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. The room is not a 5-star resort room by any stretch of... more

We've just retuned from a 3 night stay at Coquina. While the beach and pool area are 4 star the rooms leave alot to be desired. The rooms are badly in need of renovation, they are very old. The bathroom we had even had a leak on the wall that looked patched from before but had leaked through again. You... more

We only stayed here one night....and we were glad. Although the room was large, with a balcony that overlooked the pool, the beds were uncomfortable, & there was a very strong cleaning fluid smell that did not dissipate. When the people in the next room were cooking dinner, the smell of the food mixed with the smell of the room... more

Coquina keeps my business because of their outstanding people - from res to the front desk to the maids! Hotel is a little gem right on the beach. Not glitsy, nor luxurious, but clean and well located. Pet Friendly, too. more

We stayed at the Coquina for a few days in July, and loved it. I have to say that they have the most friendly staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They went out of their way to take care of us, all the time. We stayed in a studio room with kitchen, near the office, and found it... more

My wife and I were looking for a "quaint" get-a-way. We are both teachers and needed a "spring break" as much as the students we teach. The service, view and the accomodations were outstanding. If you are looking for a quiet, scenic, and no frills escape......this is the best kept secret in Florida! more

The Staff at the Coquina on the beach are the best!!! They always went out of thier way to help us. It is an older hotel that was built in the 50's. It has been taken care of very well. The showers are great!! altho it is so hot there you have no need for using the hot water.. You... more

YES, we live on Indian Rocks beach, so, when we want a close getaway! It does it every time. We can bring our dog, Tasha, she can't wait to go. The staff are warm, so is the weather. I'll be back on the, 6/20, for a little rewinding. Thank you Cyndi! Rose Longiaru. more

just returned from a week at the Coquina on the Beach, located on Lido Key, just outside of Sarasota. After mixed reviews of this place, we were pleasantly surprised. We requested a room with a view of the beach and got a room in the "Beachview" building- not the closest building to the beach, but with a view from the... more
