The Intercontinental appears to be an older 1980s hotel that was recently renovated. It is not a free standing hotel, but occupies part of an office building. There are rooms that do not have windows to the outside and only face the shopping mall atrium. We just returned from the Intercontinental in Tampa and found it to be a great hotel in a very convenient location. The hotel has a great lobby, efficient elevators, and very nicely decorated rooms. Also, the beds are very comfortable, might be a little on the high side for some. The hotel staff was very attentive and courteous. more
