I stayed at Mariott Columbus (Georgia). It is a quiet place in Downtown with helpful staff. I enjoyed joging along the riverside walk. Also went over the bridge to cross into Alabama. The stay was quite comfortable. It has a nice restaurant Houlihans and also a few restaurants within walking distance. The university is nearby as well. It was quite... more

Columbus is a great town and the River District is fun to explore. The Columbus Marriott is a good homebase for shopping, walking tours and events at the beautiful RiverCenter. more

Our stay at the Mariott was *OK*. We were put up at the Mariott during a house hunting trip for my husband's new job, so fortunately, we didn't have to pay...but if we were paying I would have insisted on another hotel that didn't nickel and dime everything. First off, the wi-fi was not free (even hospitals have free wi-fi... more

I just left a review here in June, but this past weekend I had to attend an event at the RiverCenter for work and this property is the closest hotel to the RiverCenter so I decided to once again book a room. Once again I paid $110 for the room, and again I appreciated the free parking and the lobby... more

I have very mixed feelings about my experience at the Columbus Marriot. My first impression was excellent. I loved driving over cobble-stone streets past historic houses to reach the hotel. Ample parking was available and I was greeted promptly by a friendly doorman, smiling and welcoming in his crisp uniform. The lobby, a repurposed historical structure, is a very special... more

I REALLY love the bed in this hotel. It is the Marriot's signature line and it is to die for. The staff was unbelieveably friendly right down to housekeeping; they always wanted to know what they could to do improve our stay. I do have a few issues with this hotel: 1) The exercise "room" is the size of a... more

Let's face it, Columbus doesn't exactly rock... it's a middle of the road city. And the Columbus Marriott fits just perfectly... it's a middle of the road hotel. It has that air of being stuck in a late 70s / early 80s timewarp - lots of bold patterned fabrics in dark colours to hide the stains. The service is OK,... more

I really enjoyed this hotel up until our last night. My family and I rented two connecting rooms for three nights. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The view was very nice, and the location was super convenient to the historic district, lots of restaurants, and the park along the river. An otherwise perfect stay was... more

This Marriott is in a reclaimed brick building that's made good use of the old structure for the hotel, lobby and connected restaurant. As we were looking for southern cities within a day and a half drive from Chicago to retire to (and I had some frequent hotel points to use) we picked Columbus to try. This hotel is first... more

We booked 2 rooms for a week (club level) months in advance by contacting the hotel directly. (We'd read they'd frequently cancel reservations but the staff onsite assured us it couldn't happen because we'd contacted them directly). Though we had written confirmations and had received verbal confirmation earlier in the day, our reservations were cancelled the EVENING (after 7PM) before... more
