Resort is small, but nice. We visited over the Christmas holiday, so the resort was pretty deserted. The rooms are large and clean, with huge bathrooms. The grounds are nice. It has a nice beach, but it needs to be groomed before swimming season to make it pretty. There are plenty of fishing spots, and boats and seadoos to rent.... more

We recently stayed at lake blackshear with my family. We were promised specific numbered cottages when we made the reservations. When we checked in they gave the cottages we were promised to someone else. The towels in the cottages we had seemed to have been washed with dirty water. There was coffee stains on the kitchen counters. Family that reserved... more

This hotel was good until i got to check-in. They changed my cabin numbers and no one seemed to know who was in charge. After compliaing that breakfast was not included in my rate, the staff did not know what to do. I went to the hot tub to relax but not even that was working. the hotel looks rundown... more

Most of the other reviews are older, and the new "entertainment" probably wasn't around then. We have stayed at this hotel several times with good results, but this last time will be OUR LAST! They have just built the Cypress Grill and on the weekends they play music either by DJ or band until 2am. What we thought was going... more

My fiance and I heard about Lake Blackshear Resort from a travel site. When we looked at the resort's website, we instantly wanted to go and see this hidden gem for ourselves. We needed a nice romantic weekend and were looking at different places to hold our wedding. Needless to say, we loved the resort! We stayed in one of... more

My wife and I stayed at the resort 9th & 10th Sept. - found it to be clean and comfortable in a great setting looking out over Lake Blackshear and the marina in the Georgia Veterans State Park. The park is beautifully maintained with nature trails, fishing and a display of military equipment. The hotel was excellent and reasaonably priced... more

What a winning combination. A state park with resort like accomodations. We stayed in the villa's, all are waterview, all have a screened porch. The rooms themselves are very spacious and are decorated in vibrant colors. Felt like we were at a place in the Virgin Islands. We had the Bed and Breakfast package at $85 per night. The Retreat... more

We stayed for a three day weekend. Enjoyed our stay, beautiful location, worth a visit if you are in the area. We would stay here again, especially if we had a boat in tow- nice boat ramp & docks. The swimming pools are small but very clean. We checked in excited to see the villa with screened porch we reserved-... more

This is a nice little getaway. We caught a bed and breakfast special that was priced just right. The villas looked just like the pictures on the internet inside and out. The breakfast was wonderful also. The room was clean and it was very quiet. Make sure you check out the Sam Short Line train tour. more

My Husband and I Stayed 2 nights at Lake Blackshear in a Villa with a screen porch. The room was large and very clean with a fridge. We had lovely views of the lake. We dined both evenings in Cordelia's Restaurant, it has a lovely view over looking the lake. The staff and food were excellent on both nights. A... more
