My wife and I stayed at the Quality Inn when we went to JI for the Shrimp and Grits Festival. The room was huge. Total fleabag motel. Looks OK from the outside, but the room smelled ultra-moldy. Paid for 1 night- got my statement and they double charged me. They said they'd take it off, but never did. I agree with one of the previous posters - it's all about expectations. Booked for 2 nights (double queen) and got a free upgrade at the arrival for 2-bedroom suite with kitchen (didn't even ask). The best view of the ocean (across the street) was blocked by the Oceanside Inn and Suites, the latter having access to the terrific beach. Great location, across the street from a great "Jekyll" beach, i.e. not much beach @ high tide. But a very nice one @ low tide. Dog friendly, we brought our two.
