We found this B&B (60 Polk Street) on the internet and the website made it look fabulous. We wanted a place very close to the Marietta, Georgia historic square and the website said short walking distance. What they neglected to say was that you had to cross a main thoroughfare and climb up a hill to get there. The entrance to the B&B was through the back door....up a set of stairs and through the laundry area. That certainly didn't add to the ambience. Another steep set of stairs led to the upstairs bedrooms we had reserved. I will say that they were nicely decorated as were the public rooms downstairs.
The problems started when we attempted to go to sleep. The first train that whistled by about startled me out of my bed....they then proceeded to come through regularly all night long. My friend across the hall got no sleep and I spent the night dozing off to be awakened with every whistle. In addition, the upstairs rooms were very cold with no visible means...
