We stayed in cabin 18 next to a babbling brook. It was very private and peaceful. The furnishings are dated but well maintained. Very close to hiking, fishing and Alpine Helen. Helpful, friendly staff. more
I'm glad that for once I did not read the reviews before I booked our cabin #31 for our Memorial Weekend getaway. We first booked a 2 br cabin on the mountain but because the road was being "scraped" we were unable to make it to the top w/out a 4 wheel drive. We were changed to another cabin. We stayed at Tanglewood Cabins for our honeymoon in 1988 and for 5 more stays after that. It always felt like we were visiting family because the owners Bob & Sara Revell were so welcoming. They have since turned it over to their children and you defiitely get the impression that money is what matters most and the warm welcome... more
We've never had such a bad experience with any rental properties. From the condition of the place, to what was advertised, and the attitude of the staff, nothing was worth what we paid to stay there. We just rented a cabin at one of the Tanglewood Cabins properties. What a dump! The place had ugly stained carpeting, the fridge was not cold, the porch light was out. Worst of it all, when we were leaving we had to strip the beds of the sheets, and we saw that we had been sleeping on disgusting, stained mattresses!... more
