We just returned from Tybee Island. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay than Howard Johnsons. Our room was spotless. And the hotel was in walking distance of the beach and good places to eat. The morning breakfast was great. No need to go anyplace else in the AM. The front desk people we met (Evelyn, Joey and... more

My husband and I stayed at this HoJo's for the entire weekend. We were in Tybee to celebrate a friends birthday. We drove down on Friday afternoon and stayed through Sunday. The room was small, but clean (we had a king jacuzzi suite)and the towels were huge and fluffy. The"jacuzzi" was just a regular bathtub with jets, we were a... more

After researching all available hotels on Tybee, none of which sounded appealing, my husband and I actually booked a room in Savannah. We changed to the Howard Johnson Tybee at the last minute b/c we did'nt want to drive back to Savannah after our friend's wedding on the beach. Big mistake. Howard Johnson was very old and outdated. The only... more

Went to Tybee this past weekend for a friend's wedding. A couple of friends and I decided to stay the night since it was a 6 hour drive back home. We went with the Howard Johnson because it was in walking distance to the wedding. Big mistake...it was gross. I'm talking dirty, smelly, and dark. Definitely not worth the $215... more

The staff at this hotel was very friendly. The room was clean and well stocked. It was right across the street from the beach, and close to a few popular island restaurants (and a great ice cream shop). I would recommend it to anyone looking to be close to the beach for a bargain! more

We stayed at the Howard Johnson admiral for two days and had a great time. The room was very clean. The bathroom was spotless. It was great to just walk out of hotel room and walk across the street to the beach. Great restraunt for breakfast across the street. Nothing fancy, but breakfast was very good. Have to get there... more

Ok, Howard Johnsons is NOT what it used to be, or maybe it's only on Tybee. This place is smelly, the halls are dark and depressing, the rooms smell (and we checked more than one) and no one at the first desk knows what they are doing. Ask a question and get a blank stare or "I'll have to go... more

My wife, two daughters, and myself stayed for three days, which was two and a half days to long. we drove down from va, thinking it would be akin to atlantic beach or hatteras in n.c., but the place is dead. restraunts close at 4:00pm, and only bars are open after that. the ho jo house keeping team uses enuogh... more

We stayed two nights at the Howard Johnson Inn on Tybee Island. The staff was helpful & courteous. Even though we had reservations, our room was not immediately ready when we checked in. We went sight-seeing for a half hour, and returned to a clean room. The room had everything we wanted, with some nice extras, such as a jacuzzi... more
