5 Dec 2009 | Trip type: Business, Solo travel New

My first stay here was around September 2009 when traveling on Dept of Defense business and my second was Dec 3-4 2009 on VA business. After the first time I knew I would never stay anywhere else in Boise and the second was no different. Betty, the hostess, is welcoming and charming. Every evening there's chilled white wine (decent stuff, not 2-buck-Chuck, LOL) and home baked cookies. The breakfast was fruit soup, orange juice, amazingly... more

I have been staying with Betty and Craig at the Idaho Heritage Inn for 7 years now. I work in Boise for 9 weeks every year and before finding this wonderful place, I was forced to stay at an unfriendly, cold hotel. The past 7 years staying with Betty and Craig have been a joy! I have a comfortable clean room to stay in, an excellent breakfast in the morning and there is always wine... more

The Idaho Heritage Inn was completely charming- I would stay again on my next trip to Boise. We arrived in the evening and were greeted by the friendly innkeeper, who invited us to partake in wine and cookies (we were off to a great start). He also recommended some great restaurants within walking distance. Our room was clean and, contrary to the prior review, warm and cozy. In the morning, we had a beautiful breakfast... more

Personal opinion only - found it to be an unfriendly environment, not like any B&B stayed at before. Also, no heat in the room and had to wear a sweater to sleep, bathroom was old & dirty (not historical), breakfast was not gourmet as promised/represented; was treated dismissively, and not as a paying guest; was interrupted having breakfast to pay the bill although check out not for hours later; and was made to feel uncomfortable... more

Management response from

One room has a mattress that is firm. Regular guests that stay in the room agree it was firm but comfortable. After further thought we replaced the mattress. Feedback has been positive according to a physician who stays with me every month. I apologize to this guest. I am not sure what the refrig issue was. They get thoroughly cleaned out 1x per month - we have 3 refigerators and 2 freezers, perhaps they hit...

We found this wonderful historical B&B in our AAA Tour Book, called enroute to Boise and were most satisfactorily accommodated. Our room was cozy and comfortable, but we didn't spend too much time in it as there was so much to see and do within an easy walk into downtown Boise. Betty was most helpful with directions. The breakfast was served out on the enclosed patio and was pleasantly delicious with garden-fresh ingredients. Next time... more

You just never know what to expect when you stay at a BnB--I found the Heritage Inn on line and thought -it cost less then the Hilton-- I was very pleased. My room was large and windows opened to the front street ---wind blowing the curtains--no need for air conditioning when I was there and it was 90 degrees out. I'm in and out all day-even had a meeting with coffee in hand on the... more

I cannot imagine that we stayed in the same B&B as the other reviewers who wrote such glowing tributes. We had a totally different experience. I think the B&B was at one time a lovely place but it is now very tired and needs to retire. more

The Idaho Heritage Inn is a delight! First off, this Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located - Boise State University, the downtown district, Boise Art Museum, Idaho Historical Museum, Zoo Boise and so much more are all within walking distance. The inn itself is wonderful. Beautifully kept, travelers are treated to a historical delight. Exquisitely decorated, your surroundings are warm, inviting, and comfortable. My room (The Mayor's Study) had all the amenities I needed and... more

Central to state offices, restaurants. Innkeepers are well-traveled, fun and have great recommendations. Loved the wine and the fire every evening. Stay off the beaten path and enjoy your stay in Boise. more
