We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is nothing fancy but very clean and has everything you need and the food was very good and very reasonably priced. I would stay again. The owners are very friendly and made us feel welcome.

The best thing about this hotel is how nice the owners are. The food is also homely and scrumptious, very generous portions. Really enjoyed ourselves here after a long day of tough cycling, fabulous location, would definitely stay again.

We were in room 5 which was very spacious and comfortable. We were told there was no mobile phone reception but we got an O2 signal in the room. The drive to Drumbeg was stunning along a narrow windy lane through the hills with breathtaking new views at every turn. We were made very welcome at the hotel and the... More

Initial impressions are that the Hotel is a wee bit tired although put into context and once you spend a few hours in this remote part of the world you warm to its basic charm. Dawn and Robin are lovely hardworking people who make you feel nicely welcome as do the locals who happily treat you to a wee dram... More

Dawn and Robin made us feel welcome and we took room 6 which is a bit small but perfectly clean and cosy - all good. Evening food and breakfast is all well beyond expectations and good value for money, and the tiny bar is a gem, with locals and tourists alike mixing and laughing together with the congenial hosts. Drumbeg... More

We only stayed one night at the Drumbeg Hotel, but it was well worth it. Hosts Robin and Dawn made us feel welcome from the time we arrived. Rooms were large and clean, the bar full of friendly locals and the restaurant served a good selection of large portioned typical Scottish fare. The hotel is situated on a remote road... More

In June, we returned for our annual trip to the Highlands and spent 3 mights at this splendid hostelry. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed quality cuisine and comfortable accommodation. After 8 hours on the hill, walking and fishing each day, we built up hearty apetites for our evening meal. Some other guests staying at the same time as us,... More

Stopped in Lochinver to inquire about accomodation for the night, and the Drumbeg was suggested. Phoned and booked two rooms at £35/night each B&B. Pretty good value. When we arrived we almost had second thoughts! Beautifully located and overlooking a loch, it has very poor "kerb appeal"! However, once inside Robin and his wife (also the cook) made us very... I have returned to this hotel on a number of occasions and it just gets better. Admittedly it could not be described as 'Home Counties boutique' but for genuine comfort, good food, friendly banter in the bar, stunning (if very remote) location, and above all value I cannot think of anywhere else to beat it. The rooms do vary -... More

Drumbeg is a tiny village on the NW coast of Scotland, and there are not many alternatives for accomodation. On the plus side - the location is fantastic, with terrific views from the dining room over the loch. The hosts were friendly, the food was fine and there is a nice little bar that sells a decent ale - very... More
