The hotel is perfectly placed if you want the beach as it is opposite a fabulous public/free beach but with the option to purchase umbrellas, food, drinks etc if you want. You have a view of the beach/sea at breakfast. Also the roof terrace has sea views one way and sunset views the other which is fab! Claudio who serves at the roof terrace is an absolute joy. Reception is 24hours and staff were friendly and helpful. It's a 20 minute walk to the waterbus stop which takes you to Venice, Murano etc but the walk to the stop is alongside the sea or the Venice lagoon so is pretty special. We bought a weekly ticket for the waterbus to Venice etc at 65€ each which we thought worked out to be good value. There is a fabulous pool area nearby and 'pay for' beach which is pricey but we thought pretty good value at 12€ each for a sunbed without an umbrella at the pool or 48€ for two with padded sunbed, umbrella and table. There's a nice snack bar so you can stay all day. If you want the 'best of both worlds' Lido is ideal. We loved the calm after a busy morning exploring and sightseeing and an afternoon on the beach or by the pool was perfect for us. At first I was disappointed there were shutters at the windows and no view but it got very hot so I was glad of the air con and shutters on returning from sightseeing. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. If you want sea views pay the extra. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet with lots of choice. Overall we were very happy with our stay. Tips: sit on a bench and watch the sun set over Venice/Venice lagoon. Visit Claudio on the roof terrace and enjoy a drink (and snacks) with a view.

We had a lovely stay at Venezia 2000. I was initially a little worried about this hotel as it looked rather dated from photos online. When we arrived however, we found it to be spotlessly clean and quite impressive! Our room was large and simply but pleasantly furnished, with a juliet balcony with views out to the sea. Most staff were welcoming and friendly, and the surrounding area of the Lido is great for restaurants and bars, and Venice is only a short 15 minute Vaporetto ride away. The only fault was the service at breakfast, and one particularly rude member of staff who was very abrupt, and at one point openly mocked my partner when he thought no one was looking! The breakfast was also a little lacking, with several items running out quickly and not being replenished. I would recommend visiting one of the many establishments on the way to the ferry terminal instead. It's a shame, and was a mark on an otherwise lovely stay.

Dear 221wilj, thank you for your review after your stay at Venezia2000. We are happy that you enjoyed the hotel as a whole and found the room spacious and well cleaned. We believe that excellent cleanliness is a necessary condition for a pleasant and comfortable environment. The location of the hotel is very special and convenient: two steps from the sea which is right in front and a few steps from the pier to reach Venice and its islands. We are sorry to read the note about the service in the breakfast room. We will immediately check the buffet and its rearrangement. We will also look into what was described about the staff. We hope to welcome you again. Best regards, TCH Venezia 2000

We booked a 4 night stay in October to visit our daughter who is living on the Lido. The pictures online looked lovely and we were pleasantly surprised at the price. This however was explained once we arrived. We stayed as a family so we were booked into a ‘Smart Apartment’….we thought this would be a slightly larger room given our family size, unfortunately it turned out to be a converted garage out the back, no views, dark and stuffy, unable to open windows as they opened into the car park. On arrival there were some cheap biscuits and basic crisps on the side, in the UK these are normally complimentary so we assumed these were a usual welcome package. There was a mini bar with drinks at a reasonable price, €5 for Prosecco, €4 for beer so imagine my surprise when we were charged €36 on checkout for stale crisps and cheap biscuits (they were €4 each!!) The location was a 15 min walk to the Vaparetto stop, we didn’t mind this but for some people it could be too much as the streets are dark and very silent at night. Unfortunately it wasn’t the hotel experience we are used to, I was hoping for some sort of view of the beautiful islands but instead I had the view of the inside of some metal shutters and steel bars on the bathroom window. We didn’t see any daylight the whole time we were inside hence we basically just slept there and that was it. Reception was very helpful and let us leave our bags indefinitely on check out as we had a late flight back. The hotel is also adjacent to an abandoned hospital - I personally loved this but also appreciate this probably isn’t the vista some people would like. For a 5 day stay we had to buy a 7 day Vaparetto pass (they only do 3 or 7 days). This cost €230 and is literally the only way off the island and also does make for a lot of extra travelling (it takes about an hour from leaving the hotel to getting to Venice if you take the quick vaparetto with less stops). Next time I would rather spend the extra money and stay on Venice for ease. - Be wary if you book a ‘smart apartment’ - Don’t eat the snacks! - Research and read reviews

Dear Annie, We are very sorry to read your review. The hotel is located across the street from the beach and only some rooms have particular views. These rooms carry the wording in the name. On the other hand, the smart rooms are the simplest and most modest, they are also very economically priced because they are smaller and basic. Reaching the city of Venice is very easy, about 10 minutes walk is the embarkation point and to get to San Marco is 15 minutes by vaporetto. We agree with you that booking the multi-day ticket for lagoon transportation is the best and cheapest way to travel serenely. The streets of Lido may be less bright than those in classic metropolitan cities, but the environment is totally safe. Sincerely, TCH Venezia2000

We stayed at the Venezia 2000 for a week-long stay in Venice for a family with 2 kids. We felt this was a really good decision to make. We really appreciated having the beach right across the street. It is a free beach with no frills but blankets and umbrellas are available for a small fee. If someone wants more, then there is a beach down the street (5 minutes) that offers a pool plus cabins and showers. The hotel has clean rooms that are air conditioned and offer nice views of the immediate area including the sea or lagoon/city depending which side you face. Our room for a family was actually quite big and we were pleased with the space and comfort. There is a rooftop patio which offers views all around. The staff is really friendly and helpful. A real treat was breakfast, which costs extra, but is well worth it considering how long one can be on the way during the day. It includes a full buffet with breads, cereals, jams, eggs, toast muffins of course coffee, milk and various juices. Getting to the city of Venice was not difficult. Either one can walk about 20 minutes to the port or take a bus 5 minutes to catch the transit boat (Vaporetto) to the center of Venice. Just know which bus to take- and which direction to go. Lido is actually an island and so taking a boat is unavoidable to reach this location. The price at checkout averaged about €200 night including the room, breakfast and snacks we had in the room. This is actually quite a good price for Venice/Italy and we were quite happy with the value it offered.

We enjoyed the couple days we spent here. Staying here in Lido rather than in Venice turned out to be a good decision—quieter without all the crowds and much less expensive. Getting around via the sea buses was easy. It’s a little daunting at first because there are so many routes and different places they leave from, but just ask someone and you will quickly become a pro. The hotel is across from a very nice free beach. Good facilities, sandy beach, and very warm waters while we were there. The front desk clerk encouraged us to use the free beach and not bother spending money on the “pay” beach next door. That was good advice. Our room was on the end of the floor and it was quite spacious. Breakfast was good. If we return to Venice we would definitely return to the Venezia 2000!

We stayed at this pleasant hotel in a comfortable and very clean room. it it located in front of the beach and a 15 minutes walk downtown. We do congratulate with the reception lady, she is a very professional, careful and helpful person; unfortunately, the other staff are not of a like standard. Breakfast was varied and very good.

Thank you Venezia 2000 we have had the most wonderful stay. Where to begin.. Our room 501 was HUGE! The room had the most amazing views over the beach to the front on the hotel from the lounge. The 2 bedrooms had the most spectacular views looking towards Venice. Just perfect. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a bath and a shower attachment. The roof terrace on level 4 was also a bonus. We sat out a couple of times after dark enjoying the panoramic views. However it could do with some umbrellas or some form of shade for the day. It was too hot to use during the day. The breakfast was delicious, everything you would need and more. A cooked section boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage. Plenty of bread and toast to choose from. A great coffee machine and fresh coffee. Fruit juices, teas. Croissants and cakes and fruit tarts. Cereal and yoghurt and grains and seeds. Cold meats and cheese and salads. Everything you would need for fuel for your day. The beach is a free beach opposite the hotel and we had a wonderul day at the beach bar that sits on the beach. The sea was warm nearly as warm as the wonderul staff at the hotel The staff were helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Thank you.. The bartender was very friendly and pored us huge drinks! Thank you. I would highly recommend this hotel and the Lido for a base for touring Venice. It's a short walk past all bars and shops to the ferry for Venice. If you would rather hop on a bus they stop right outside the hotel. After a busy day of the hustle and bustle in Venice it was a pleasure to head back to our quiet oasis at the Venezia 2000..

Stayed here for 5 days such a great hotel great location opposite the public beach not far from the main strip where there are lots of amazing restaurants & a short walk to the waterbus. Bus stop right out side the hotel too. There is a little coop around the corner. The room had an amazing sea view albeit a bit on the small size but it was immaculately clean, the staff are very attentive. Breakfast was okay good selection Coffee was nice too. Overall a great stay highly recommended.
