(Time warp #2 was next door at the Red Light Garage). My timing has never been right to stop in Wallace before so this was my first time. The ‘Wallace Inn’ is why I knew there were motels in this town, but the Stardust is a little less money which is what I am all about. Check-in was ‘small town... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while riding the nearby bike trails. It is an old style motel with nothing fancy. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and coffee maker. The office had a microwave for the guests to use. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better...walking distance to everything.... More

I selected this hotel based on TA reviews. Our experience was quite the opposite of the reviews! The room we got had a very noisy hot water faucet on the sink. It made the most obnoxious groaning sound when you turned it on. I can't believe the office couldn't hear it as they were very close. There were towels for... More

On our two week trip from NC to Seattle, my partner and I stayed at several hole-in-the-wall motels. This was one of the best. The owners were extremely friendly, the rooms were big and clean, the area was quiet. The red garage next door has pretty good food. Just remember everything in Wallace closes before 9, so make sure you... More

The room was good enough for a one night stay, the grounds are well kept, and the people are friendly. It's an old style 50's motel without much in the way of amenities, but the price was right and it's close to downtown. If you're looking for an upgrade, I think the Wallace Inn is your only other choice, and... More

We were driving to Seattle from central Minnesota. Actually called about reservations at the Wallace Inn and they were a little above our budget. The reservationist suggested their sister property and I looked it up on the internet. It didn't really appeal to me in the pictures but decided to take the chance. What a wonderful surprise to find a... More

I'm used to staying at Hiltons when I travel, but there isn't one in Wallace, ID. As soon as I found out that Wallace was going to host a Blues Festival, I made my reservations at the Stardust Motel. I knew that their sister property (Wallace Inn) was available, I went for the lowest cost per night ($58) and the... More

Reminded me of driving across country in the fifties and small town motels - Simple, no frills old-fashioned but comfortable bed, beautifully maintained, great shower, very genuine helpful staff and a "real deal" .Coffeemaker in the room but no food - Not to worry, the "Red Light Garage" next door offers diner style fare in what was an actual service... Pulled off the freeway in Wallace and went to the Wallace Inn for a room. Over $100!! The host there sent us to the Stardust. For $65 plus taxes we got a clean functional room. With a fridge. Shower had great water pressure. This isn't the lap of luxury but it works well for a pit-stop in Idaho.

The Stardust motel was one of the highlights of our 76 day trip around the United States. Small town Americana is alive and well in this tiny town snuggled in the Idaho Mountains. The Stardust Motel is what we've come to call "Funky but Clean". I would add "Charming" to that definition. The Motel staff is efficient and friendly and... More
