I stayed at the Whitehall on a saturday night in December; our party had two king rooms booked. PROS: Great location at the North of the Magnificent Mile. Next to Bloomingdales and across from Hancock building. Could see the American Girl store from my window. My party had two rooms- both Kings, but one was much more spacious than the... More

I'm truly sorry to hear about the problems you encountered. There is no question that the hospitality we provided did not meet the high standards our guests have come to expect and should continue to demand. We strive to accommodate all of our guests and their needs, and I'm disappointed that we did not meet your expectations- or ours. I... More

We took a chance on a discount hotel for a one night stay in Chicago. For a $100 a night rate we really didn't know what we would get. We got lucky. The hotel is a rennovated historic building just one block from Michigan ave (Magnificient Mile) and close to world class shopping and dining that this area of Chicago... More

I booked this hotel for November 18-21 for a family of 5 (girls 18, 10 & 9) in hopes it would be a good location to Michigan Ave. shopping as well as a reasonable distance from the museums. It turned out to be perfect for both. Just a block off Michigan Ave., we were minutes from Watertower Place and the... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during the Festival of Lights. We checked in on Friday a little before 3:00 pm and our room was ready. The rooms are a lot bigger than what other people are saying in their reviews. We had a King sized bed with too die for sheets and pillows and the mattress... More

Very friendly staff. The rooms were clean. Many people in other reviews had multiple complaints; I found nothing wrong. Rooms were average size. They only had two elevators, but found that they moved fast and you didnt have to wait long to get on them. Furniture was outdated but added character to rooms. We enjoyed our stay there. Would definitely... More

Pros- the location Cons- lights broken, phone did not work, no room service, no coffee in room and none until 7am Good luck business travelers- towels worst I have had outside youth hostels when I was in my 20's. Furniture and carpets cut and frayed seriously. Furniture tables looked like they came from Goodwill. Should be ashamed More

Right from the check in I experienced rudeness and a condescending attitude. Room was shabby and need of serious upgrades. Carpet was dingy. Old furniture and towels were YMCA rejects. Got the impression that the hotel did not have the funds to keep it up. Stay somewhere else! More

The best asset of this hotel is its location and proximity to the mag mile. The other cool thing is that it is an older historical hotel. I will say the hotel itself is worn and dated. The carpets in the hallways could be replaced a few, little touch ups here and there and the hotel would be restored to... More

Disappointed with hotel. Room was not ready at checkin. Waited an hour with luggage. Room was old with outdated furniture and a small Zenith TV. Do they even make zenith TVs anymore? Tile in bathroom had cracked and holes were in shower marble. This may have been a 4 star hotel in the 1930s but today, I would rather stay... More

We keep coming back because of the location, the friendly staff, and because it is a Disney Vacation Club property. Everything about this hotel is wonderful if you are open to a historic building, except ONE THING--HOUSEKEEPING. It is really sad that the owners cannot remedy this housekeeping issue, but it must be a Chicago-wide problem. Just reading through reviews... More
