We stayed 4 nights at the Chinatown SRO and enjoyed it very much. For $65 a night + tax we were suspicious, but were pleasantly surprised. I stayed there 2 nights in July 2005. The night shift reception doesn't understand a word of English! The hotel is located near to rough areas of the city. It may not be safe to walk out after 11PM.
