I stayed at the Gold Coast Guest House this past February, and even though it was cold outside, it was warm and inviting inside! The guest house has a great modern vibe combined with classic Chicago vintage charm. I felt so taken cared for by Larinda and Sally, and they recommended great neighborhood places like treasure Island, where I was... More

This was our 'splurge' in the middle of a month long trip across the USA, and it was absolutely worth it. My husband became quite ill in NYC (I dragged him on the plane) after staying at a friends place that wasn't the most comfortable (or clean) and it was such a relief to arrive here. Our room was huge... More

We spent three nights at the Gold Coast Guest House in mid-October. Had a wonderful time. We flew into O'Hare and it was a piece of cake taking the CTA to within a block of the Gold Coast. The location is close to Michigan Ave the Lake Michigan in a quiet neighborhood with lots of personality. There was an outstanding... More

Stayed here while visiting a friend who lives nearby. Sallie, the hostess is very nice and thoughtful and gave us good directions to locate the B&B and there is a parking garage right next door as we were driving. She provided us with a map of the area and also some restaurant suggestions. The B&B is on the Near North... More

Sally is as helpful and knowledgable as all the reviews I'd read indicated, and the B&B is beautiful. Our top floor room was pretty and comfortable. That spiral staircase is worth mentioning, if you've got luggage. We really appreciated having constant access to a computer, and the availability of refreshments all day long. The location is convenient -- around the... More

My friend and I were visiting Chicago from NYC when Hurricane Sandy hit and we were unable to get home on our originally scheduled flight. Our itinerary was to stay at the Gold Coast Guest House for two nights, but we ended up there for five since we couldn't get home. Sally Baker, the owner, could not have been more... More

We just returned from a 5 day stay at the Gold Coast Guest House in Chicago. Sally, the proprietor, extended a warm welcome and offered great advice and suggestions for restaurants, sight seeing and just enjoying the city. The property is conveniently located in a neighborhood of shops and restaurants and is very near public transportation, both bus and train.... More

I have just arrived home after 7 nights at the Gold Coast Guest House in Chicago, and what a wonderful stay that was! This place is exellent! Sally, the owner, and the girls working for her, are so friendly and accomodating. Sally also has all this tips about what to do and where to eat. The house is a short... More

Let me start out by saying that I have been intending to write this review since February this year. My business partner and I stayed at Gold Coast Guest House for two days while taking care of personal business at the Italian Consulates Office (600 Block of Michigan Ave.) Can't say enough about the location. You can walk 1 block... More

Since I often travel alone, I like to stay in accommodation that feels safe. Sally's accommodation definitely feels that, and once through the front door you really feel shut off from the surrounding busy streets. Positives: Well located for CTA red line and number 22 bus (runs every few minutes 24 hours) Large spacious room with air con Quiet, peaceful... More
