The hotel is relatively close to the downtown. it takes about 20 minutes to Magnificent Mile to the heart of the city by bus. Room was tiny but clean. This hotel is in a super location: lots of restaurants, good transportation nearby, shopping, attractions (zoo), bars, etc. The one problem we had was that the doormen or bellman (hard to tell which were which) had bad odors. I picked the Days Inn because my friends lived 2 blocks away, and it seemed to be in a nice neighborhood. Well the neighborhood is great....a 2 block walk from the L, passing all sorts of mid and upper range restaurants, fast food, Walgreens, CVS, Borders, Starbucks....all very nearby. Fantastic location for us between Halston, the Zoo and the Loop railway. Nicely out of downtown but easily reached in 15mins. Get an internal room overlooking the central area - lovely an quiet at night for a great sleep. Great free breakfast to start the day! more
