As my first visit to Chicago and being a poor college student...I resorted to this hotel. If only I knew..I would have paid 1 million more dollars to go anywhere else. A park bench is cleaner and more safe. I got scabies (not knowing) thinking I just had a temporary itch...It turned into a 5 month HORROR FEAST of itching.... More

This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Dirty, 20 years overdue for remodeling, small room, poor service and elevator ride was a scarey experience. They initially checked me into a room with someone else in it and as I waited at the front desk to get a new room there were several other guests behind me... More

I stayed here with a friend during a visit in December 2011. There's no doubt the hotel is well located, it's a short distance from Michigan Avenue, the main Chicago shopping street. When we arrived, we spent around 15 minutes just chatting to the chap on reception and the bell boy about various things, mainly sport! All the staff are... More

Walking distance to EVERYthing! Staff was really great. The concierge gave us directions, a city map, and even helped us out when we wanted to ride the "L" just for the fun of it! Never needed to pay cab fare. Got to see and do everything we went to Chicago for cuz we were centrally located. Great hotel for the... More

The room was not clean, there was a condom wrapper under the edge of the TV stand, the carpet had dirt everywhere, the bathroom was pretty clean. The outlet that the TV plugs into, is not grounded, found that after my son plugged in his laptop. The parking garage attached to south side of the hotel was closed as of... More

great value for price and location, we had a double room with quite a small bed. but after a call to the receptionist we got a king size for $10 extra. maybe it wasn't the best hotel in the world, but for that location and price it's really worth staying there. rooms clean, service very good. worth recommending. As with most hotels, check in time is 3PM, early check in can be as much as an hour earlier, depending on how full they are. When we were checking out, some people were trying to check in at around 11AM, which is around the time when people usually check out, so they were asked to stand aside, albeit a... More

We stayed at the Travelodge on Harrison because it is one block from the start of the Thanksgiving day parade. Great location-- you can easily walk to the parade and back! The staff were very helpful. We asked for a crib and it was delivered immediately. They also let us check in at 10am, even though check in wasn't until... More

The rooms have 90 years worth of repeated coats of paint, the windowsills are covered in a dusty half an inch of paint. The rooms are small and barren, there are NO refrigerators in the rooms. The price is way too expensive for what is offered, you will be like 120 bucks a night after taxes, and MORE on the... More

I stayed at the Travelodge in Downtown Chicago on a business trip last week and it was one of the dirtiest, most outdated places I've ever stayed. The carpet in the room was thread bare and looked disgusting as did the upholstery on the furniture. There were no washcloths in the bathroom and no water pressure in the shower. I... More
