All staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was large, quiet, comfortable with plenty of drawers and closet space. The location was great. A lovely quiet area, but plenty of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Just a 10 minute walk to a Red Line subway stop. It's an older, but well maintained hotel. more

This hotel is long overdue for a renovation. There has been little or no updating for at least 20 yrs. The hotel lacks in the room maintenance. Cracks on tub, doors, and sink. The carpet had stains and holes. The Ambassador East is located in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. It is just a few blocks from the train station, so it was easy to get anywhere in town. The hotel is a National Historic Landmark so the lobby is elegant and beautiful. We loved the Pump Room bar with tons of B & W photos of celebrities.... more
